Is Matt still around? I purchased VF Tuner and the Taco tunes back in early June. He sent my program code but not the file attachment to activate the tuner. At least according to his instructions I should have received a code as well as an attachment.
He has not answered my emails???

Yes. At the end of the climb on the top of the hill
Throttle drops from 36.8 to 21.8 deg (accelerator from 50 to 36%), load% goes down, but rpms are getting stuck @3200.
Used to have it on b03.
See right of the vertical line.
    Thanks

Got to the top in 4th, tc locked. Which is appropriate for the grade.
Started backing off of the pedal , but the engine was not responding the the throttle reduction for 20 or so seconds, staying in 3200 range.
Once I let the pedal go( accelerator went to 0%) and press again, the tranny upshifts to 5th.
    ACIS suspiciously stuck at 17%..

I’ve had this happen a couple times as well and used S mode to get out of it

Yeh, I'm getting it every time in those conditions on 2.0. I'm sure if I drive slower it would not be a factor. So it is on my to do list..

    Rafael/Matt,

Thanks for the prompt attention! I was able to use the file you sent and register/access tunes. Tune complete, what a difference! Throttle response is tons better, smooth acceleration without the factory pauses. Ready to test your shift patterns/changes!

    Thanks,
    Bryan

    this and that...
i think im ready to venture down this route. for someone who is brandspanking new to this (no prior orange virus experience), are these the only two things needed (attachments) to get this ball rolling? im ok using the off-the-shelf tune for now. does the taco pack tune fix the throttle response and smooth out that vvti kick? if it does then im not even interested in tuning it further as those are really the only two issues im looking to fix with purchase. also, what is tactrix. i seen someone else mention that, but the website doesnt mention anything of that. sorry so long. just looking to get everything in one go.

edit: 2019 sport mt is my trim

    Yup that’s everything

    tactrix is the flash cable

throttle response is linear and the vvti kick is completely gone. Plus you’ll get noticeably more low end power. It’s well worth it on the MT

This happens to me every day on my work commute (at highway speeds). It will not upshift until I crest the hill, even with less pedal. I haven't let all the way off the pedal though with other cars up my butt. Might be a catch22 tho as the alternative may be gear hunting. Let us know what you find?

    So. Many. Stickers.
why on earth would they program the transmission to up shift when your foot is in it and you're going up a hill? Think about it fellas, it's got to stay in gear to keep the power. Up shifting into overdrive or your second overdrive gear is not a great way to keep power down.

That's the issue.. the foot Isn't in, but it keeps revving like a mofo.
    Forget about upshifting

I don't know, but mine up-shifted all the time going up hill with my foot in it when I was on the stock tune! Like it was rationing rpm's or something, maintaining speed be damned.

I’ve felt that “rev hang”, I used to get that hang up on 04b03 stock tune, but it stopped when I got 04b04 and it does not do it for me on 2.0 33’s thx tune.

This used to happen to me with the stock tune as well on my long commute to work. I don’t have that long commute anymore so I can’t say if it’s doing it with OV Tune though. I’d crest a hill in 4th gear with cruise control on, engine would still be 3200 and it wouldn’t shift to 5th even though 4th gear clearly wasn’t needed anymore. It would hold 4th gear for MILES sometimes, when completely unnecessary. I found if it was holding 4th gear for too long, any input on the gas pedal caused the transmission to upshift to 5th, even with the cruise control still on. Just the slightest little touch of the gas pedal and it would upshift. Very weird. Toyota totally dropped the ball with the 3rd gen transmission. Without OV I would definitely not keep the truck long term.

It sounds to me like you guys are talking about the truck not wanting to upshift and holding a lower gear than you think it should. This is not rev hang, this is something that needs to be adjusted in the shift logic.

Rev hang is on the MT and something us MT guys have talked about for a long time. When you clutch in, the ECU will hold the revs and slow them from coming down. The revs will hang instead of falling.

These are two very different things, lets not use the same name for both of them and get everyone more confused than they already are.
