No joke, I laugh every time I see a Club...but they say it's still one of the best ways to prevent your car from being stolen.

Just put one of these under each tire...don't forget they are there...

Oh, and in Massachusetts the best you can do is yell "I have a gun, stop" because you cannot use deadly force for property...you can't even brandish a weapon to protect property if you have a means of escape without confrontation...

Also in Massachusetts "Failure to Report a Hotel Fire" is an FID disqualifying event :)

Same here, esp after all the infomercials when I was growing up.

Agreed though. Why mess when there is an easier target. With the fob range extenders, it is easy pickings.

You need an RFID pouch. They are cloning the commands from the OEM fob/remote. Even if you have your keys inside the house they can clone them from literally hundreds of feet away. No need to touch anything. RFID pouches are cheap...$10~$15...Amazon
The spare set I kidd you not wrap it in aluminium foil. If you don't believe me, wrap your keys in aluminium foil and try start your car, truck...it will not start...basically a Faraday cage!...

I have read on here somewhere that if you hold the lock button and tap the unlock button twice the fob will flash 3 times and the transmitter will turn off. it will turn back on again once you hit any button.

    Nice color.

If I was using a Park n Ride, the Club would be a smart move.

The risk of someone stealing your vehicle by amplifying your RFID signal from the keyless fob has been an ongoing topic on most car forums. Having been an Audi and Tesla owner, those forums are littered with these type of threads. Some people on those forums keep their keys in Faraday pouches all the time, except when they're using their vehicles.
In the end as others have said, if someone wants to steal your vehicle, they'll steal it. It's a small risk you'll have to deal with, just don't get too paranoid.

Maybe we need to start a group buy on the Club!!

Point being, I don’t have to worry about this FOB hijacking. Not sure where the idea that car thefts didn’t start till FOBs were introduced, but hey imagine if it was just that easy.

I'm confused, are there Tacomas that start with just the press of a fob button? Is this considered a remote start? My 17 Limited requires the fob to be in the cab (I believe) and then I push the button on the dash with foot on the brake. I would really appreciate someone clarifying just what type of fob is being discussed. Thanks.

Appreciate the quick response, but what am I correct on? Remote start?

About the FOB, what happens is thieves use a booster to amplify your FOB signal, then start your vehicle.

More like mexico or south america. My 2nd gen was stolen when the original owner, my brother's father in law had it. They ended up finding it trying to cross the border somewhere in mexico either into the US or some other central american country, my brother couldn't recall the exact details. There's still a chance they could retrieve the vehicle, the truck was returned within 2 weeks.

I would disagree with OnStar being useless, it was one of the things I liked about GMs. If you are in an accident it immediately calls you to make sure you are alright, as well as places calls to the police, and EMS as needed and provide the coordinates. Prior to actually having an accident myself, I questioned whether it was worth it, after my personal experience, to me, for this reason alone is well worth the couple of hundred dollars a year charged.

I'm in the if they want it, they'll get it camp, use common sense, keep good insurance, and live your life, things happen.

Also; I love my guns, but I'm not killing someone trying to take my truck, unless there trying to pull me out of it, I'll have a new one soon enough,,,,, see above.
