I MSRP priced a Ranger Lariat, configured comparable to my Tacoma Limited and the Ranger was $1k less so I’m not sure where you guys are getting your numbers?

When my lease expires, I’ll look at the Ranger before I pull the trigger on another Tacoma. It will obviously be hard to beat the Tacoma quality but even my Limited doesn’t ride as luxurious if you will as it’s price tag. Ranger does have a better power plant and transmission though and I’m not afraid of turbos. I had an F150 with the 3.5 Ecoboost, that thing pulled my 7k lb travel trailer with ease, unlike any V8 I’ve ever owned. Anyways, if it rides nicer, it could be a hard decision.

People on the Ranger forums seem to be very happy with them and the 2021 model is supposed to be based off the new Bronco platform. Ford is really gunning for Jeep with the new Bronco Platform and in short time, gunning for Toyota with the Ranger built on the Bronco platform.

I’m not a brand fanboy. Vehicles are a luxury for me, similar to how people put a budget on going out to eat, entertain, etc. so I see things a little different than most. I would not however buy a Ram or GMC/Chevy. I’ve been bit by them and their quality so I doubt I’d ever go back unless there were drastic changes.

    Driver's side grab handle confirmed

Looks like the Ranger has the "Wide Vehicle" lights. Surely the Midsize Ranger is not over 80" wide?

Why are Canyons selling in such low numbers?

That’s the Australia one that’s in production now. The US one will be with the updated body style in a year or two.

I'm surprised the Ranger has done so well with what Ford put out. This isn't a whole new truck and it shows. Once Ford puts a whole new Ranger out will see how well it does.

My roommates friend owns a Sport Ranger, came over with it yesterday.

Bed looked deep, but tiny. Interior looked clean, but so outdated. Front looks like a Ford Taurus. What an awful back window.

    2/10, would not buy.

I looked at a ranger before my Tacoma. I had an 2017 f-150 so it felt very familiar. You have to go into it knowing how fords pricing and trim levels work though. You can get the FX4 package on the XL trim, which gives you all the goodies like crawl control and locking rear diff. Was a fun test drive, the engine felt perfect for the size and reminded me of my F150, and the FX4 XL was a great price, but the looks and dated interior made me go for the Tacoma instead.

tacoma has been fun. Look forward to having it as long as it lasts. I’m really looking forward the bronco reveal though, I miss having turbos on mountain roads, and if they do okay I’d pick one up used in a few years.

Did it have the bbq tick? Tranmission issues?

I love the 5.0 but these things are deal breakers for me.

Depreciation. Tacomas don't depreciate like others. I'm on my second 2nd Gen. While some things bug me about the taco, I know when I go to sell it will be a lot better than if I had a Colorado or Ranger. For me, that was the deciding factor.

The 2.7L should have been an option from the start. Ford was so afraid of hurting F-Series sales that they seemed to half ass the return of the Ranger by modifying the international version and claiming it was all new. That was an immediate turn off for me. Now, if I was buying a full size, no question I'd be getting the F150 and most likely with that 2.7L. But the Taco fit my current lifestyle better and there was never another option for me than the TRD Off Road.

I agree the 2.7 should have been standard. Though I will say the 2.3 has been amazing so far and couldn’t be happier. This is just a old euro Ranger slapped with a new engine and tranny so I can’t wait to see what the do with the redesign. The Bronco tonight will be the start since it will share the same platform.

Because they're a Chevy Colorado with a more premium price due to being a GMC. That being said, I like the look of the Canyon over the Colorado, personally (not counting the ZR2). But after my last truck, I have some serious trust issues with GM.

I have greatly admired Ford taking their time with the Bronco and wish they had done the same with the Ranger.

The 7 speed manual in the Bronco sounds pretty cool, wonder if they will also stick it in the next ranger.

You can only hope, although I somehow doubt it. Manuals only make up about 5% of Tacoma sales and about the same for Jeep if I remember right. It would probably force Chevy to put a manual back into the Colorado though. That hasn't been gone long.

I'll definitely take a look at the Bronco when it drops, depending on what engine they use. If Bronco offers a manual transmission with the 2.7EB I will throw my wallet at them.

No way there will be a manual option. Too much production cost for something almost no one wants anymore. A handful of enthusiasts on a website don't pay the bills.

The Bronco is sharing the next Ranger Platform so since the MT will be available in the Bronco it will already designed to fit, no extra development costs.
