Cleaned up the Diff mounts with some engine degreaser. Probably gonna paint all the steel components with POR15 before I get ready for assembly

@JoeyWales , looks good, I'm going to try and do mine this fall when the weather cools a bit. While I was doing my rear shocks, I noticed my undercarriage is in really good shape. I have some light surface rust on the frame in places, but nothing to worry about. I see some of the rust buckets posted here on TW and think, no way in hell would I drive that.

Thanks bud. Waiting for it to cool would be nice but, I’m busy in the fall with working out of town. It’s been a scorcher these past two days. Real feel around 105 with SC humidity. Hoping to wrap up tomorrow.

I have seen a few rust buckets on here. “Luckily” I only had two places of rot in the typical spots. Considering this truck spent 2004-2014 in the New England area, I’m grateful. Although every single bolt has the chance of shearing. I’ve sheared and replaced countless bolts. From 8mm to 19mm. I need a donor truck just for misc bolts lol

Well it’s believed that the ECU only uses the knock sensors above 3k and everything below is extrapolated.

I cannot afford the one Toyota I have... not sure I would want to buy another. I've thought a couple times about picking up a little 4 cyl single cab 2wd tacoma for driving around town and fetching parts / groceries. But then I'd want to start rebuilding it too and my money would be split in even more directions lol

Gonna have to start doing manual trans swaps on the side to support my habit :D

Day 6 of the power steering line replacement. Installed the new lower ball joints, torqued everything down and filled the power steering pump with fluid. No leaks so far - and the pump seems to be working great. Was worried it might have gotten damaged running low on fluid. My steering wheel is upside down now, so it's looking like I'll have to adjust the rag joint one more time. But the truck is down off the jack stands and driving again.

Thanks! Same, for now just using the stock springs. Ride is the sufficient for now so I'm just rolling with it.

@NightForce27 , are you re using stock TRD springs, New TRD springs, or non TRD springs, or some aftermarket brand. Just trying to see what others are doing. I have a set of bilstein 4600 shocks for the front, and like you I'm trying to keep it stock. Just have to make the coil spring decision before I jump into doing the work.
