I am looking to put ProComp Series 98 black rock crawlers on my 2000 tacoma. Im running 31x10.5r15 all terrains on stock 15x7's right now with no fender flares. I want my tires to stick out of the wheelwells more and am not sure what backspacing to go with. I was recommended 3.75" but figured I would try and get more opinions. Also there will be a daystar 2.5" strut spacer leveling kit soon to come.

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
i don't know what the requirements are for a 2000 with a 3.75 and a 8" rim it should stick out a bit. What's the offset on the new wheels.

Stock 1st gen wheels (15x7 on a 2000) have +15 mm offset. A wheel that has -19 mm offset would stick 34 mm (~1.33") further out than the stock wheel.

IMO If you now have no fender flares an 8" wide wheel with 4.5" of backspacing (0 mm offset) would look very good and not stick out toooooo much.

Im running those same rims on my 99 tacoma and they do stick out about an inch or two. I have no problems with my truck and these rims even though I have heard of some guys having to grind down their calipers to run these rims.

IIRC the caliper fitment issues are limited to the '01 thru '04 trucks.

In 2001 Toyota started using larger, 16" wheels. I think it was because they also started using larger calipers on those models.

    1. Call summit and tell them you want a 15" wheel on an 01-04 toyota tacoma. They are going to tell you that a 15" wheel straight up wont fit. ( which is BS )

    2. Order Wheelers wheels. They are a TW sponsor and just totally kick ass. when mine showed up, low and behold they were in pro comp rock crawler boxes. ( as that would appear to be the manu of the wheels. ) Skip the center caps and just hit the hubs with a little bit of black high temp spray paint or something.

i went with the black type B's 4" BS on my 03 xtracab pre runner. my 31x10.5R15 Yokohama geolanders rub slightly on the pinch weld and on certain inclines up driveways. Im running stock suspension/height.
