So I decided to vinyl wrap my hood scoop today to match my red d-rings and and skid plate. I think I like it so far. And if I get bored down the road, I can take it off, or paint and wrap all of them a different color. What do you guys think?

All I see is clown nose.

It's different. I'd rock it for a while to see how it grows on you. But ultimately I'm guessing you'll remove it.

I’m not sure. It seems kind of boring without it, and takes away the glare that bounces off the edge of the scoop when I’m driving. I might vinyl wrap it matte black down the road. Either way, it’s an easy fix.

The question is, how much weight does Rudolph's nose add? You don't want to counteract the power gains you're getting from the faux engine scoop. :)

Wow, you sound like you’re fun at parties. Nothing says “safe” and “boring” like a white Sr5 though. I guess when you just want to fit in with everyone else it’s good.

So far the comments have been good spirited. You are asking for opinions..... you have to expect playful responses.

Everyone with a sport already knows they're going to take some playful jokes about the hood scoop. You wrapped your hood scoop in a bright red wrap and asked for thoughts? Did you seriously expect everyone to say wow, that's the most amazing thing I've ever seen? Stop being so defensive and sensitive, you asked, we answered. I didn't post a picture of my white SR5 and ask everyone if they thought I was the life of the party.

My bad, you're right. I get protective over the Sport Hood Scoop lol. I've wanted a Sport for years, and I know the scoop isn't "functional", but I counter that it serves as an aesthetic function. Many people place a lot of emphasis on looks when buying a vehicle, so in that aspect, it does serve a function. I'm on the fence with the red vinyl and wasn't expecting it to be as vibrant as it was. It's the first time I've ever vinyl wrapped anything before and wanted to learn a new skill. Probably gonna replace it with matte black to still get rid of the glare though. Sorry again.

I like the matte decal around the scoop, but don't care for the red.

I had changed to pro style grill because having had an FJ40 and FJ cruisers, really like the retro grill.

I chose to add red accents to my TOYOTA letters for the same reason as you.

That being said, I would never in a million years ask for the opinion of this forum's members.

My skin is not thick enough to deal with that lol.
