I think i actually like the 2 & 4 door. 7 speed manual option is outstanding for that type of vehicle. And front and rear lockers optional. I'm impressed.

 

Eh. Missing the 5.0 v8.

Nothing I dont like about it so far. They really knocked it out of the park.


Even the Sport looks great. Gonna target the 4Runners hold on that market. Even has a locking rear diff and almost 9" of ground clearance.

 

Id take an ecoboost over anything with this logo on it.

 

Well that’s a given. The 3.6 in the jeeps are terrible.

 

Still out of my price range at $30k base price for the 2 door Bronco. Start adding options and it'll probably hit $40k+

 

All I can say is, please toyota. Bring us a smaller 4runner with a removable roof like the og 4runner

 

Also the 5.0 in the new F150 is getting the dreaded cylinder deactivation.

 

Wonder how long before SAS

 

God damnit can’t they leave their only reliable engine alone!

 

Oh wait, I just saw they have some pre-equipped options start at over $50k.

Thats really the only thing I hate about the new F150. Looks better than the current one imo. But that deactivation crap has yet to work on any other brand, and Ford wont be the first to get it right.


As for offroad vehicles, its Toyota's move. Really gonna have to step it up on the next gen 4Runner.

Or bring back the FJ but make it look good and not like a futuristic Lego mobile

 

Not to mention all the extra gadgetry. Turbos, screens on the dash, power for all the things. It adds up.

I think I'll keep fixing up my taco.

 

After work today, I pulled it, the shroud, and the fan clutch. Yesterday, I was poking around the pulleys with a mechanics stethoscope and found a noisy center idler pulley. I ordered that from Partsouq. The fan shroud was broken when I bought it. I ordered a new shroud a few months ago and have been holding it for an occasion like this.

The previous owner said he changed the timing belt and water pump roughly 20,000 miles ago. I did find a timing belt that looks to be that young. The water pump must be the original. There is no way in hell that the water pump has ever been changed. That will be something for me to do when I take down most of the engine to install new gaskets and seals in November. I don't want to stop and tear the engine all apart right now.

Oh, and the four 10mm nuts that hold the fan clutch on, two were finger tight and the other two were some kind of crazy tight.

 

Needs a removable top.

According to our reps. The excessive length of financing has really fucked up car prices more than anything. Tech doesn’t help. But it’s not a majority of it
