    Honestly they're not bad looking.

But did we need yet *another* anonymous 4-door hatchback fwd/awd crossover? Seriously - here's a list of the 63 "best" crossovers. https://cars.usnews.com/cars-trucks/rankings/crossover-suvs

They could have done something so much better with that nameplate.

I put in my deposit. ($100 refundable). Going to build a Badlands edition. 35" tires, swaybar disconnect, front and rear lockers, removable top and doors. It's almost like they listened to offroaders when they designed it.

Build is late 2020, shipments next March. If everything seems good then I'll decide if the Taco or the Mrs. Escape goes.

Great looking vehicle. Shouldve been named something else. Even Trail Blazer wouldve been better.

Too many but also not enough mods
I wonder if an off road, body of frame SUV that competes with the Jeep Wrangler would generate hype

Well the fj IS missing in action. It does fill a void . I might work for dodge, ram , Jeep , ahem Fiat but the fj is pretty sweet although the footprint is kind of big for the cabin space . It’s also discontinued.

Throw me in the corner of the room for being a bad kid, but I've had some pretty extreme built SFA jeeps in the past. There's almost no trail in the USA that you can't do with a modern IFS with lockers and a winch (same with a SFA jeep) And the IFS is a helluva lot more comfortable bombing through the desert. The new IFS technology is fine for almost everything everyone could possibly want to do. If you wanna run hammers or moonrocks or any of the rock-crawling competitions out West, you're still not doing that with a factory Jeep Rubicon either.

Yeah, the FJ and Xterra went away because MPG. Its just easier to get better economy out of a unibody, which is probably why we got crossover-blazer instead of actual-blazer.

Any vehicle can be dragged through anything with a winch, terrible argument to make.

The limiting factor with IFS is articulation and wheel travel. The reality is there are tons of trails that IFS’s simply can’t do. Sorry but taking a bypass doesn’t count.

Hell, it’s the main reason why I’m SASing my taco.

The FJ was basically just a weird looking 4runner. I had heard that they got shitty mileage, though.

Looks good, but 4 and 6 cylinder only? No “muscle” to it at all, regardless of how much HP those motors put out.

Alright we'll agree to disagree. Tell this guy he has no articulation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=36dVm7I8ZMA

If you're gonna SAS your taco and put it on wide axles and 42's, yah, that's a different league. For literally everything else, it's a non-issue.

The FJ was awesome. The MT was the best I’ve ever driven.

But yeah, apparently most people get 15 mpg which blows

Get an original one man. These new ones will just be mass-produced with no collectors value. The roads will be littered with them in a matter of a year. This one was had for roughly 35k. 65EF3B52-5C46-4BCE-B5AC-99B21EE7C3BF.jpg
