Didn't find any other cracks on the axle. A bit easier to see then with the mag powder. I've got quite a few holes to drill... IMG_20200713_184032.jpg IMG_20200713_184108.jpg IMG_20200713_183949.jpg IMG_20200713_184210.jpg

My only experience with drilling & filling cracks is on sheet metal.
You're not drilling all the way into the axle right? I would think just maybe like halfway through or something? No deeper than the crack itself

The whole way through. It'll continue to crack if it's not 100% filled.

I'll have a new one come September. Hoping to make an upper gusset for it. Hopefully this gets me to winter.

Need more boost! Still have to address the exhaust leaks I keep chasing.

Got all the cracks welded up and one spring perch ready to be tacked on. Found out with the .35 wire it trips the 20A breaker in my garage after about an inch of welding. Kind of annoying.

Got the other perch made and tacked onto the axle. Test fitted to make sure that my pinion angle matched the drive shaft flange at the carrier bearing. Still need to cut the bottom plates to make the axle 3" all the way around and drill and tap the top plates for my bump stops.

    Stuff. Also things.
I like your fix for this, Ryan, especially the doubler between the housing tube and the perch. Here’s hoping it holds up for you!

Yep, that shitbox has a short somewhere to the HVAC and window controls. Hottest week of the year and it decides to pull that nonsense. Other than that it needs brake pads and a cv axle. Been searching for a commuter car that gets mpg in the 30s. Probably another shitbox to add to the collection.

Save yourself the struggle and get a CPO civic or corolla. It's extremely nice to have something that DOESN'T need constant attention.

Might be looking at a 95 corolla tomorrow. Waiting to hear back on what maintenance has been done to it. Looks to be in decent shape.

Burned the perches on. This is definitely at the limit of my welder with how much heat the axle soaks up. The whole tripping the breaker thing is definitely frustrating. Never know if I can get a 3" bead down or only an inch. Lower plates are cut, just need to chamfer and burn them in tomorrow. IMG_20200719_201729.jpg

As far as the T100 goes. The fuse seems to last until I start driving forward, then it pops. The ac fan goes out first but the windows still work for a few seconds longer before I can hear the fuse pop.
