Thanks Justin! I'm finding this: https://www.amazon.com/HP-Tuners-St...QAPDSSFRKQEA&refRID=SS4Z2D30QAPDSSFRKQEA&th=1

    Comes with 2 credits...I definitely need 4?

Looks to be 600ish after the smoke clears...you have it I assume...worth the investment on a stock truck??? Thanks again

Bought mine on Amazon, there is an option with 4 credits for $480.00. Yes you need 4 credit.

Definitely worth the investment especially if you want to tune the transmission.

    Cheers

Hptuners is just the tool needed to tune, the real master is @JustDSM, he is a must, hit him up with his engine tune and you will roll with smiles all day long.

Also @nd4spdbh has done some amazing things with the auto transmission, I would pick his brain as well...

Copy that, contact you here, or?

And last question...I have a automatic 2010 GT Mustang I plan to tune also, would just need extra credits??

I have a stock truck (6spd). Buy the tuner and 4 credits. Read you program. Email it to Justin (@JustDSM) and pay him for his tune (PM him on what he’s charging. DEFINITELY worth it). He emails back an altered program that you upload to your ECM. BTW, save the original on your hard drive along with the altered one. Night and day difference in drivability.

Thank you for spelling that out for me. That's a very accurate account of the general process.

If anyone is in the PNW (Salem, OR) and wants to travel to me, I'm happy to let you use my mpvi2. Just pay for the credits and fee for tune.

Hey everyone. I just got a 2013 sr5. It has a 4.0L V6 w/ a stock Supercharger. It came with a Bully Dog that doesnt turn on. I read that the Bully Dog can mess with the engine possibly causing it to run dry. If i turn it on will the Tuning be enabled? Also is it possible to just monitor the engine with the Bully Dog?

I'm guessing the prior owner loaded the tune already anyways. Dangerous territory if it hasn't been loaded with a SC compatible tune. My Bullydog tuning was ok but there are horror stories out there. A wideband AFR gauge is your friend. Hptuners and @JustDSM is a far better combo. I still use my Bullydog unit for the gauges and diagnostic trouble codes.

Interesting! So technically, it could already be tuned? Engine and SC sound good so I'm guessing it was loaded with a SC compatible tune. Is there any way of knowing?

and thanks for the suggestions, probably will get the HPtuner in the near future

Not sure if there's a way to confirm if the tune is loaded with the Bullydog.

Checking the Calibration ID would confirm. If it starts with a “3YWG”, it’s a S/C specific tune.

Anyone successfully use this to turn off the secondary air injection pump?
