Yeah my ac sucks...its a tad better than my 01 tundra. I'm still waiting to hear if any of these whistling or howling noises appear....knock on wood none yet. Truck is very quiet in the city and back roads. Got a tiny bit of wind noise at 70 mph on the open highways.

My 2017 TRD OR did this a lot and only when accelerating. I had no idea it could be the AC causing that noise. Oddly enough, my 2016 never made that noise and I don't think I've heard it in my 2020. Pretty sure I've heard it a few times in my dad's 2018 SR5, but it was less frequent.

The whistle I heard occurred at 9 seconds. That was definitely A/C.

Update: took it to dealership. They replicated the issue but they don't know what it is.

Toyota asked them to check it against another 2020, but they are sold out at their location.

Writer and mech say they don't expect to see it in another 2020 and will probably need an engineer to check it out.

Well then. Thanks for putting that to rest for me. I've been hearing this exact noise since day 1 of getting my truck.

Mine had it since new at 2017. It's been 3 years. Currently, i rarely does went to dealer but they have no fix. Did not pursue. They might mess things up. My ac is ice cold even in SoCal heat.

If you have a defrost setting on, then the A/C will still cycle. It helps with defrosting the windows.

I hate how they compare things to other vehicles to say it’s normal imo that’s a shitty mechanic . They should know what is normal and what is not and how to fix it . These mechanics might as well pull up utube videos to fix stuff .
