My truck had 1 recall which was a vacuum pump on my '17 Tacoma. And it's all good now.

Like a 3rd gen lol far as recalls anyway. But that happens man, I'm sure the 2nd gens had plenty early on.
You're not gonna know squat about reliability until the masses of those ponies reach 100k miles.

I’m not sure. You’d think with all the technology they’d have a fix figured out. But I don’t think the 2nd gens would be the same since the 4.0 isn’t direct injected like the 3.5.

I know what you mean but I hate taking a vehicle to shop for recalls many times.. Don't you hate to take the truck to shop many times for recalls?

True. I forgot about that change. Pressures are likely very different then.
You could always just go aftermarket and bypass Yota altogether. I've mulled the idea of that myself, but it's not as needed yet, until I boost.

fify = fixed it for you

Yes, but no. If my awesome goldfish memory serves me, my truck has never been in a dealer for something I could do at home.
My stuck drum brakes, that was another ballgame! Still didn't go to a dealer though

That's good. I wish I do that, but I don't have tools to use fix it myself. I have carpentry tools for home remodeling, though. And I can't lift any heavy items such as transmission due my bad back which I got injured at work. That's why I take it to the dealer. I wish I know someone who is mechanic and lives close to me that he can fix in his garage while I wait and talk to him.

Did you convert from drum to disc brakes? Or just replace it?

I've been on the Ford site recently, but it's mostly been spec'ing out a F-150 King Ranch :anonymous:

@dirty deeds I haven’t really considered it. I do know that the stock fuel system is good to around 450hp I believe. At least that’s what I think OVtuning has said. I don’t remember. So it is a capable fuel system, some of the pumps just fail prematurely

If they keep the extended tank option in the TT Hybrid they're releasing in the fall, then you'll be able to go close to 1000 miles on a single trip to the gas station. Plus, its an infinitely more comfortable truck for people 6' tall lol.

Have to say though, I like the cajones on Ford for offering a Bronco with 35s and steel bumpers straight from the factory. I'd probably still take that over the V8 Wrangler

I am glad that I am not that tall for Tacoma. But I wish I am that tall for top shelves in the kitchen cabinets.. dammit... I guess I will use drywall stilts for kitchen.. /joking

    You lucky bastard.

Oh wait, I have an idea... I will start searching for a tall woman that I can start a relationship with so she can reach up there.. HA!

Yes. I like steel/metal bumpers like they did on old cars long time ago. I wish they get them back in black paint or x-line.

I plan to get metal bumpers on my tacoma someday.

No conversion, if I towed things, I would consider it. My rear drums were just very neglected by me and hung up badly. I tried 2 times to work on them and gave up, paid a shop to deal with that bullshit lol

I can't find any good spec videos or a website showing much. Haven't looked too hard either

    Question: Lift? Or no?

The reason I ask, I will see what I can do about getting 285 or so tires for off roading.

I will go to the tires store and get the price for default size and 285 size. First, I get AT tires in default size on stock wheels.

Then maybe next year, I get new wheels and bigger tires. I know it would rub if I don't get it lifted which I was told.
