I bought a 2010 Prius.

it’s a complete shit box with nice technology creature comforts. It completely emasculated me. But it gets 50 mpg and keeps the miles off the trucks.

 

Prius was the best mod I've ever done. Went from 12-15k miles a year in my 4Runner to about 4k. Saves me money in gas and parts. Plus allows me to take 4Runner projects into the work week without having to worry about driving it to work.

 

I have been lusting after a satochi style grill for the longest time. Just never like the vertical bars of the '01-'04 grills, too much like a '53 Buick for my taste. So to celebrate completion of the paint job, I ordered the kit last night. Would still love to have one of the center sections from an older Landcruiser or even the new TRD Pro grills, but have had no luck finding one. I hold out hope that @BartMaster1234 will get tired of storing the one he has. So for the time being is will just be white "TACOMA" badge.

Yeah that is huge. If my current rig was a daily driver i'd be working to another solution also. I'd hate to put all those street miles on my nice off-road tires and so forth. I don't commute to work currently but if that ever changes something will be in the works.

 

Same. I had bought a crv bought was a piece of junk. Clean inside and out, but motor wise, ugh. So i sold it and bought an 08 civic. I actually enjoy driving it. Hella jdm lowered stanced out

 

installed a borla exhaust today, now getting a check engine. I pulled the efi 20a fuse like I read on here could help, but didn't seem to reset. Besides disconnecting the battery for a while, any other options?

I've been eyeing the used market on the Lexus CT200h (the Lexus Prius), you can get a really nice one for around 10k. Style-wise I think they look pretty sharp too.

 

One of those or 10 of my camrys or one camry and gas money for days

Looks good. Somehow mine are still completely intact. Still under 100k miles but impressive none the less for being nearly 16 years old.

 

Might be the dry desert climate my truck has always been in too, who knows...but every time I clean them I do it carefully just waiting for the day when one of them pops off lol.

 

I looked at the CT200h before the Prius. It's a lot smaller than the Prius, which I didn't like. And the interior is dated. The base infotainment system is bare bones, and the upgraded one with screen has a really weird mouse dongle that you have to use. My prius has a touch screen, larger and cleaner display, and easier controls than the Lexus did. Granted, the Prius is the latest generation and the majority of the CT200hs I saw when I was shopping were in the 2013-2015 range
There's also a lot more used Priuses/Priui..? out there which made finding a one owner, low mileage, good service history vehicle easier.

 

With the coils touching are we talking the first two full wraps touching or including the little flat wrap?

I will one up the DD mod. Used to commute 30 mins on I-70 which led to one death of a 3rd gen 4runner. Now I commute 15 mins on the bike path.

Truck will be only for short bike/kayak trips or when I need to get somewhere that I need clearance for.

Yeah I picked a 2013 Prius early this year. It’s awesome to run around town in and to save miles from my truck.

 

The Prius is the better buy over the CT200h. It's cheaper, has more room, lighter so it isn't as slow and gets better MPG. It just doesn't look as good as the CT200H. I would probably pick a Yaris or Corolla over both though.

 

I installed a $60 EasyGuard Remote Start & Push Button Start Alarm System. I may do a step by step wire color code for super easy install. Looks like a mess while testing the system, but I clean up my wiring before final inspection.
