I agree with you as well. I never got an alignment when I replaced my wheels and tires and they were a different offset.

Hey everyone, planning on applying noico sound deadener this afternoon on just the 4 doors for now and had a question. I got the 80 mil and the 150 mil closed cell. My question is should I apply both to the interior portion of the door panel as well as around the speaker/exterior of the door? or is it better to do 80 and 150mil inside the door and just 80 around the speaker/exterior? Any advice helps thanks!

From the threads I have read through 80 on the interior of the door 150 on the area where the speaker mounts. At least that is what I plan to do this weekend.

Thanks, I guess it doesn't matter too much how you do it. I might do 80 and 150 inside and 80 where the speaker mounts. I think the 150 is supposed to insulate from heat/cold as well so it seems like it would work best inside the door but maybe I'm wrong.

Insulation works best if its not directly against the heat source or the item directly in contact with the heat source. The heat coming off the outer door panel has to heat the air between the panel and the insulation then has to heat the insulation then the heat has to transfer through the insulation into the cabin then the cabin will start to heat up. If you can make it harder for the sun to heat metal then air from the metal then insulation from the metal and the air THEN the cab.

Its the same concept as a cooler, Ice stays inside because the sun can heat the outside plastic all it wants. That outside plastic then has to transfer heat into the air space between the outer and inner plastic. Then the inner plastic has to heat up before the ice starts to see a temp rise.

That's a good point, I'm still undecided haha found this on Noico's website. https://noico.info/articles/how-to-do-a-complete-sound-deadening/

Then we take the ruler to measure the interior part of the door, cut the template in the material based on these dimensions. Then, having removed the protective layer from the material, stick it to the interior part of the door. After that, level it in place and roll it down elaborately, to remove all bubbles from under the piece of material. It is special embossing on the foil that lets us see where the material is rolled down well and where not.
We heavily recommend you to make sure the whole sheet is rolled down properly

To build in the second layer, we have to degrease the first one again and then stick Noico Green 4mm (170mil) on it. This heat and sound insulation layer should be applied without any openings or gaps between sheets, in order to preclude the possibility of sound intrusion and ensure as high heat insulation as possible.

Then we cover the exterior metal surface of the door with the sound deadening material. Stick down all the apertures, including those narrow designed for wires and door lock arms. This layer should be carefully rolled down as well.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know the weight specs that our door hinges are capable of handling?

I imagine it's more than our door currently weighs (there has to be some safety margin built in), but probably not much more. Is there a shear rating or similar, for the hinges, that I simply can't find?

i feel like we need a post (maybe sticky) dedicated to aggregate the options and what peoples experiences are with the sound deadening process

i say this as im in the market to do the my doors, haha. Double Cab, ive already upgraded the speakers think i should go the extra mile now and get the most out of it.

fill in the blank here with whatever topic you like.

That's the problem/blessing with this thread. It's full of tons of vital amazing info on EVERYTHING that we do here. such that if you miss a day you miss 120 posts on a variety of cool stuff...then a month later when you want to review that discussion on XXXXX you can't find it.

    Just whining really. I'm addicted.

I think for the most part I was finding a thread here and there, google searching most of it there wasnt a real good sticky I could find where people really talked about it. Lots of threads of people asking the square footage they needed.
