Is there a purpose for twin snorkels with a stock engine or is that just for looks?

In case one goes underwater on a deep crossing, your engine breathes through the other one.

    I went with the TJM AirTec for the 5th Gen 4Runner. A little more work, but I love it. 20200710_151856.jpg 20200710_154156.jpg 20200710_162408.jpg 20200710_165908.jpg 20200710_171522.jpg 20200713_142525.jpg 20200713_142537.jpg 20200713_142625.jpg 20200713_142549.jpg

Looks good, but how well would it fit with a roofrack like Prinsu or UpTop?

Pretty sure uptop just dropped their own snorkel, which (not trying to be logical, oh wait yeah I am) one would imagine they designed around at least their own rack offerings...but who knows.

Very true, didn't mean to imply it was available, just figured if someone hadn't see an image of it/their style and mounting, it was worth viewing.

So far... went through some of the heaviest rain I've driven through in a very long time. I actually had to pull over, only had about a water bottle cap full of water in the airbox. Havent submerged it it though.
