I thought the SR didn't have: power seat, leather wrapped wheel and shifter, 7" screen not 8" screen, no power rear glass, no keyless entry, no fog lights.
not suse about the SX package if thats available in the central Atlantic region, tow package is standard on SR5 V6 models, not sure about the SR. towing is important, I have a small camper to tow and brake controller to that needs to go in to the truck.

SX pkg is quoted as an option on the build your toyota website and I peeled my SX stickers off my truck when I got it so pretty sure that makes it national. Yeah there are a few other differences on the 2020 the screen is a inch bigger, usually the SR5 has the chrome bumper if you like that. Just saying with the SX pkg you get keyless entry, interval wipers etc. Here is a quote from a toyota dealer :
Key Differences between the 2020 Tacoma SR and SR5
While the 2020 Tacoma SR and SR5 have many similarities, they also feature several differences. The SR5 is equipped with amenities like a standard remote keyless entry system with lock, unlock and panic functions, a 10-way power adjustable driver’s seat and a 4.2-inch TFT Multi-Information Display. Additionally, the SR has a 7-inch touchscreen, while the SR5 comes with an 8-inch touchscreen. "
So mainly seat and a inch bigger screen. Anyway just a thought for those looking and wanting to save some $. If you need the power seat though, then SR5 or higher is probably the way to go.

V6 gets you the tow pkg, yeah you are right on the fog lights. I added mine for fifty bucks in a couple hours.

did want the power seat and wanted the keyless entry, the leather steering wheel and shifter wrap are a nice touch too. I don't mind adding things like lighting at all. I do want to save some money and this is my first Brand new vehicle too, i've always got preowned before. the thing is the vehicle I have now is a Limited edition that has dual heated leather and power seats, keyless entry and most every option there was at the time it was new. I'm willing to give up some of that but don't want a penalty box.

I tried to do a build on the toyota site, looks like the SX package is not available in mid atlantic

Sounds like SR5 or up is the way to go for you then, you get the steering wheel you like and the power seat. I am not much of a computer guy so I guess the website can tell where you are located as the SX pkg shows up for me. If you really wanted to go that way you probably could get one from another area, but like you said the seat is important to you so no sense pursuing the SR. I had a power seat on my Acura and once I set it, I never moved again so for me, no big deal . However if multiple people are driving the vehicle or for long trips where you want to change your position it could be a nice amenity.

Dude. Hold out for the power seat! I know it is cheesy but the older you get the more important little things like that become. Hold out for what you want and keep looking!

Might be worth calling these guys. They don't have one on the lot (they do have a nice TRD OR which might be worth considering). They may also be able to find you one locally. Bit further north but could be worth it. I drive 1.5 hours to get my truck from them. Small, family owned Toyota dealer. I was surprised how nice they were:

Well dude I'm 46 now so yeah tell me about getting older....I'm about to soon find out. its worth it to hold out for the seat since I will probably keep it for 10 years or longer like I did with the Jeep.

I got you beat by a number of years. Going from a 2005 SR5 to a 2020 TRD Off Road was like moving from sitting on a wooden board to a comfy couch. Seriously, though, call those guys in CT ... you might find as I did that moving to an TRD OR will be so close that you make the jump from the SR5.

Ha! What is weird is that I was looking for an SR5 (couldn't find one). Got a good deal on the TRD OR and the difference wasn't that much. It wasn't $5K. I need to go back and check my notes ... but I was surprised. And since I plan on keeping it for 10 to 15 years, at least, it was worth it. Plus there were no SR5s ... :)

I'm not sure if you're going for the SR or SR5 at this point but my 2 cents is that if you're already spending that much money, perhaps consider socking away an extra $3k or so for an Off-Road. My first Off-road was a 2018 in a stick for $30.5 before taxes and titling. My new '20 I got for $37,300 with the premium package before taxes and titling. I'm just saying if you're already going to be paying in the $30's range it might make sense to jump to an Off-Road. Either way, best of luck in your search. Cheers

Yeah, that makes sense. For me it was the difference between the SR and the Sport or Off road so a big difference in $ . The SR5 was never in consideration since I am not a fan of the chrome and as said the powerseat is no big deal to me. I am not a big off roader so the locker on the OR was not a factor and with all the upgrades on the SR now it made the most sense plus I am cheap. I just point out possibilities, but agree it's better to upgrade for a few dollars more if the higher option truck has the stuff you want.

I'm so glad it's fun spending Mike's money! He worked hard and saved long to have it to spend. A few thousand more is not a problem I been saving almost thousand a month and really amazed I can do that, but I don't do much and hardly go anywhere since the pandemic. if I wait a bit I can surely get a TRD OR.
I'm also waiting on 2018 and 2019 tax refund plus my stimulus check for 10 weeks. the plan was to use most of the stimulus for a tonneau cover and tint.

Exactly! The thing for me was I was at 28.2 or so for SR 4wd V6 access cab with SX pkg, mats, sill, running boards, flaps. Came out to 29K OTD. I don't care about alot of the tech stuff or the seat and wanted access cab with long bed as it's just wife and I and we have a mid size SUV for hauling people when needed, and price was important so it worked out great. Everyone has their priorities so you just have to go with that. If the value is there for the extra $ then it's an easy decision

I was actually being sarcastic about it. You could probably do it all yourself for under 2K.
