Watch the Scotty Kilmer video on the Ecoboost engines. It will make you think twice. My neighbor's turbo ranger has gone through 2 throttle bodies in less than 50k miles.

Exactly, i checked out colorado's at a dealer also...when doing an actual visual on the interior/exterior of the truck, it appeared put together cheaply when even compared to there full size chevy pickups. As said on paper it looks to be a hell of a package.

Buddy of mine needed a full size and decided to go with a new RAM 1500 Quadcab....got like $12K off sticker. No wonder these vehicles don't hold their value

If the Bronco truck comes out as cool as the Bronco, I can get by with one less kidney.

Did you see the Bronco reveal last night? Holy shit the 2 and 4 door look amazing. Gonna be really expensive though.

Not only do they not hold their value, they are overpriced....that is how they offer $10k off all the time.

My Dad had something similar to this. Had the truck for not even 10 years and the paint started come off, and the carburetor was an ass hole.

Keep it forever! Those are simple, bomber trucks -- except the stupid armrest that caved in because its plastic is so cheap and thin.

Ha! I had to replace my armrest pretty quickly, was shocked how flimsy it was. Got a better one off the explorer at the junkyard. Actually kind of matched my seats.

That was pretty cool. The first segment felt like ridiculous frontier propaganda with a splash of cool hiking/camping shots, but the second bit with all the detail on the axles and breakover angles and drive modes and storage options was really neat. Does anyone know what those little black rails on the edges of the hood do?

Looks good. Mine was a slightly different design because the armrest flipped up. It was a split bench that let you sit three up front and cram two into the jump seats in the rear. I did that all the time in high school. The 2.5L really struggled with even that load, and the person sitting in the middle had the pleasure of my arms and fist rowing the gears and sometimes bumping their nether regions. Good times.

Oh yes, the bench seat haha! I drove a single cab ranger with 2.3 and 5 spd and i know exactly what you mean by lack of power and the middle passenger getting the action from rowing gears.

That duratec 2.3 was a bulletproof engine though, so was the 3.0 vulcan. 4.0 was not bad, considering it had 3 timing chains. 4.0 had ok power, sucked on hwys and gas.

They are for connecting brush guides so that branches go up over the roof instead of smacking the windshield.

Agree, those things look really good. 33k starting price for the 4 door I didnt think was too bad considering that the base model has 4WD and can fit 35's. Plus you can have it fitted with a proper manual trans with the 4 cylinder engine, Id buy one if I didnt need a truck bed.

Thanks (and thanks, Grindstone)--that's a neat idea. Where's the Taco mod for this?

Bronco will have an MT option? Wow, im a bit shocked. Would be cool to see it in person when it comes out. Hopefully it wont be god awful looking like the ranger.

Would be cool if there was a renaissance and manufacturers brought back the MT. I highly doubt it though haha.

Figured the Tacoma would continue it’s reign, but I’m surprised to see the Ranger already outselling the Colorado.
