7” deep at the top isn’t going to fit at all.

That static impedance test is nice & all, but it won't tell you if you have mechanical issues. It's best to do this out of the box, but you'd want to spread your fingers evenly on the cone, outside and off of the dust cap and apply pressure so that the cone pushes in. If you detect any scratchy type sound/feel, run away...that would indicate former or coil damage.

Thanks for the replies. Already bought it $175 for the JL sub with the Kenwood amp. Wanted to save some money on this part of the process. Hopefully it works. Real nice guy. He said if it doesn’t work then let him know and he’ll refund the money.

4.5” at the top. 7” at bottom. Going to have to make it fit one way or another

You got a scorching deal if it all actually works, so buy a new box. I have very low expectations for that box to fit with a 4.5” top depth

Wow, I figured it was pretty good which is why I went straight over and got it but I didn’t think it was that good.

It was a pissed off dad that had told his kid to get it out of his garage because it was just sitting there taking up space since the kid sold his truck. Parent of the kid just took off to go party at some lake so the dad sold it out from under him. Ha!

I did see how expensive those subs were. I just don’t see how there could be that much of a difference or why. At the same time I understand this is definitely just My ignorance

I did not order it yet but I just got a 2020 TRD off-road a couple days ago. Non-JBL. That would be the right thing to order in that case then right?

So close. But not looking good. It’s 13 inches high. That 1 inch on your kicker box makes a big difference. I wonder if I bent back the car seat hook and took off the plastic on the back of the seat if it would fit. I’ll try that tomorrow. $ is adding up. Trying not to spend more. Prob build my own box if it won’t fit.

That’s the way to go honestly. That way you can build it notched along the top to clear the horizontal brace. This lets it sit back farther against the wall, while letting the front wall of the box be taller to fit a larger speaker.

How much room do I need beyond the plastic of the sub do I need for “excursion”(my new word for the day). I can’t seem to find that number but I feel like it should matter

Does this make sense for building a box? The JL sub calls for exactly .5 ft.³. Will there be enough room for excursion? It will be 25 inches long and be in the passenger side bin. Anything I’m missing?

    Bin measurements are:
    12” height
    25.5” width
    4” depth 1
    6.5” depth 2

-The plastic on the back of the seat is recessed about 1/3 of an inch.
