Dongle guys can trade in the dongle and get vF for free. Or pay the $79, keep the dongle and get vF

I'd say there is zero chance of him caving and releasing 2.0 to dongles since he would have to rewrite 35 different files for 1 ECU version and there are at least 20 different ECU versions out there all for maybe 10-20 dongle users that are left. That ship definitely sailed and pulled a Titanic. Converting over is easy though and all old files will supposedly be available on P5 with VF so there really is no reason at all to hold on to a dongle anymore

I’m currently running one of the new 2.0 files. Question for you all - I’m thinking of adding a cat-back exhaust system. Once that is installed, would it be beneficial
to reflash my tune file? Or reset LV and Reset AT? Not sure what if anything is needed when new engine/exhaust mods are done.

    thanks in advance!

Hey guys, I have the older dongle version running 1.05 version. I am picking my truck up today from getting 5.29 gears so I am trying to figure out how to re flash. I am really bad with computer stuff and this page gets out of hand trying to read back to find answers.

Q_ If I have the dongle version , can I use the 2.0 Tune? I have seen chatter recently about it not being released to "us dongle guys" but I thought it was released. I downloaded the new 2.0 file with the 5,29 gear option and downloaded the new drivers but cant find a direct answer whether the 2.0 will work or if I need to stick with the 1.05?

The p5f files are not compatible with PCM flash (the flashing software for the dongle)

You can either trade in the dongle for a free upgrade to vF tuner so you can use these new files, or you can keep the dongle and purchase the $79 upgrade to vF tuner.

There are only a handful of dongle users left out there, its been discontinued for future releases.

I traded mine in a while back.

You’re SOL with 2.0 and dongle. You’ll need to trade in and get a free copy of VFTuner if you want that goodness. Or find someone with your ECU that’s willing to help out if they have VF.

Well shit.... is there a way for me to flash the 1.05 with 5.29 gears or is that even an option for dingle users? I am nervous about driving the truck with new gears and not having the tune to match, will this cause problems?

You can drive the tune you are on with gears, people even drive the stock tune with gears. It’s no issue. The 4.88/5.29 tunes have adjustments for shift points is the big difference.

It’s perfectly fine to drive as is but I’d definitely work on getting the upgrade so you can take advantage of 2.0

I think there are beta 2.0 versions with gearing specific options that are compatible with PCM Flash. I had a dongle and ran previous 2.0 betas, just not positive that there were gearing options (I’m still running stock gear, so not paying attention)

How does this "trade" deal work?

It took a week and a half to send in my dongle and get a serial + reg key.

This may have been mentioned already, but is the 3500rpm powerband jolt intended to be in 2.0?

You're a more patient man than me. I'll admit I'm sometimes a little late to the party, but I have to wonder, how late did they get to the party......

I haven't been here long, but I don't understand how it *couldn't* be prevalent. You might be able to round the edges, but idk how u would be able to eliminate it completely.
