My seats are cloth and it appears from the back that you can unzip them.

Are these just seat covers I can take off and wash?

My point is, does Toyota build these as seat covers or are they just designed like that to get part of the cloth cover on more easily? Documentation I've found just seems to point to cleaning the seats with damp cloth and carpet cleaner etc, but it looks like they could be removed.

Just watched a video of removing seat covers from a 2016 Tacoma. I'd say if its really like this my answer would be h#** no, don't take those things off, just buy other seat covers to put on top!

The seat covers are held on by clips as well. The seat covers aren’t made to be taken on/off frequently. It would be easier just to buy seat covers.

Just get the custom fit seat covers from costco.com they are well made and you can return them years down the road when you eventually sell the truk

And aren’t there airbags integrated in to the seats? Don’t mess with those unless you really know what you’re doing.
