2019 Grill on 1st Gen

I learned how to drive in a 1990 Pickup and have always loved the Toyota spelled out on the grill as compared to the symbol. Has anyone ever attempted to put the new Tacoma grill Toyota on older models?

 

You can buy the letters on there own.

 

Nope, it won't work at all. The dimensions are going to be completely off. 3rd gens (2nd gens too) are completely different trucks with completely different dimensions

It is possible to modify your grille and add the Toyota letters to it. Try looking up satoshi grille mod

 

Just google "1st gen Tacoma custom grill" and you'll see a bunch of people who've done I think what you're after.

But don't buy a 3rd gen grill to do it. You'd just hack it all to pieces and the only thing you'd keep is the letters.

I did it, alittle patient, elbow grease and a few beers and wala!!

 

i think a few company's might make a fiberglass front clip that changes the whole front of it to look like a 3rd gen

 

There is/was one on here that had the bar from a mid 90's Landcruiser grafted in. That grill also has "Toyota" on it. It was sweet, and I hope to do mine in a similar fashion.

Edit: This is one example, but not the one I had in mind, as it had the letters in white.
