METHOD 701's on White 2017 Off Road

After a week and a half the 16in Method 701 Bronze colored Trail Series Wheels were mounted on my truck. I had ordered these wheels on a Wednesday, they were delivered the following Wednesday, and finally Friday they were paid for and installed! I had to wait til Friday because my truck was at the Toyota Dealership getting an oil leak, chirping fuel pump, and cracked blower motor fixed. At least Toyota honored the warranty and gave me no hassle.
The wheels I picked out for my truck have a zero offset and I have added a picture to show how much they stick out the side of the truck. I must say 0 offset is the way to go with the 3rd gen Tacoma. This offset gives the truck a much better looking stance! The bronze color is not too gold and shiny and not to matte and dull I find it is just perfect. Method really hit the mark on their bronze wheel color. I also like the fact that the Trail Series has the Bead Lock Technology (although I do not know how often I will get to use it) and this series of wheel has a flush sitting center cap. At first sight I was not a super fan by any means of the protruding center cap on the street series of Method wheels.
Incase you all are wondering the tires I have are 265/75R16. These are the tires that came with the truck when I bought it from the dealership and I plan to continue to run this size tire in the future. I am trying to decide between Cooper ATP, BFG KO2 DT, and the Toyo Open Country AT/III. I saw a set of the AT/III's at Discount Tire last night and.... WoW!! I am leaning toward those tire! Anywho you can get an idea of what a slightly larger that stock tire on a zero offset rim looks like in these pics.
Onto the tire shop itself. I waited a whole 45min to get my old tires taken off the truck, rubber removed from the old rims, rubber installed on new rims, balanced, rotated, and reinstalled with the new wheels on my truck. The manager even invited me to hangout with the boys in the tire shop and "talk shop" while they worked. I respectfully declined as the AC was on inside the store lol. I just sat and read my Star Wars graphic novels. Josh is the employee who helped me through my entire wheel purchasing process @Discount Tire and I have to say this guy should get a fat bonus check!! Excellent service!! He also explained to me how the new lug nuts would work. I found out that the Method wheels require a unique lug nut that I had never seen before in order to install them to the truck. A special "key" is also needed to remove, instal, and torque. He also told me that I was the first person he ever helped who ordered Method wheels and I was followed later the same day by another customer who order the second set of Method wheels he ever saw. Must be the sale? IDK... The other guy ordered a set of black 701's for his Jeep I think. I also got the opportunity to explain how the Bead Lock Technology worked and Josh was impressed by this too. He had no idea Method's has this hidden gem on their Trail Series. On a side note or maybe this is a primary note Josh did tell me the tires were more difficult to install on the Trail Series wheel. He told me the techs had to inflate them higher than normal psi to get them on then lower them back down to get them to seat correctly. He attributed this to the Bead Lock Tech. I usually can not stand to sit and read long stories like this however if there is some useful info in here somewhere I am glad I took the time to write it. i couldn't find the width of the rims, could u share with someone who is about to get a pair of 17x8.5 iirc with 0 offset, because i want to know if i'll get much more poke. and out of curiosity do you have a lift/how high is you lift(another question for poke

 

Good timing, thanks for the pics! I was just looking at these and wondered how they'd look on a white truck. Would love to see these with a 285, but it'll probably have to wait until mine come in.

I am not too sure if this is what ur looking for. With the tyre on it is hard to get the exact width of the wheel itself but I dropped a tap measure on there for you and I took some side profile pics so you can see how far it all "pokes". I feel like the 0 Offset is perfect for our trucks. It gives the truck a better stance, a bit meaner look, and it's not over the top sticking out.

 

i meant of the rim, so if the rims themselves are 16(height)/(width of them)/0(offset), i'm just curious bc a wider rim will poke(being a figment term more for cars hindsight 20/20) out more because lifting the truck will bring the tires a little closer in with the lca's being pushed down. i'm looking for a bit more poke than that so if it's an 8.5 in wide rim ill probably go for the 9 wide with -13 offset for a bit more poke(i hope this helps u understand a bit better what i was asking sorry if i rambled on a bit)

 

i checked methods website and found they are 16x8 so there a bit thinner than i thought so something a little wider with some larger wheels should give me about what i want

 

Man... those look really good. I think the white truck with Bronze wheels is a good combo.

 

I like it if you described the setup to me without pics I think I would've passed but I'm diggin it very cool!
