Once we get it down, we can order materials, get it set up, and if you decide to make a trip up here, we can do yours too. Pending pandemic of course.

:fistbump: I think the biggest disadvantage to a cap roof mounted panel is being able to park in the sun at a wooded campsite. Is this as big an issue as I think or no? The reason I ask is because I was looking maybe designing a system that can be removed and stood up against the side of the truck, or stand on the tailgate to be able to reach it on the top of the cap to tilt it with some sort of support. In that case It would need to be able to pivot on all 4 sides. I'm not sure if it was in here or on another thread but someone said, mount it to an articulating tv mount.

I guess mounting mine to my roof is akin to a cap mounted panel. I never had any issues with being in the sun enough for it to do a great job charging up my aux batt and keeping the fridge powered during camping trips when I wasnt on shore power. YMMV. I was living somewhere with a lot of sunny days/year.

Is anyone here looking to buy a northstar group 31 (dated 2019, cant remember the month) second battery and blue sea ML-ACR with the isolator button and the harness that OGE sells for it? I have that stuff coming up for sale in the near future too........... Honestly for that one I would rather just deliver it to you and take it out in your driveway (I currently am living in a giant apt with a parking garage and I think im freaking out the new neighbors removing items in the shared garage), but I dont think I would want to drive more than an hr or so to get it to you.

If I was in a better position financially I'd take all of this and meet you half way. Unfortunately I am treading lightly on my mods until things stabilize. It's definitely a great deal, and that scratch likely doesn't affect anything.

I was referring to the dual battery setup, but yeah, that can be done.
My ghetto idea would be to have a gas shock hooked to a center location, and each one goes to each corner of the panel. Each corner would also have some kind of ball hinge lock, so you can unlock one side or another and tilt it up.

I have a Thule Xporter truck rack for sale on CL if anyone is interested. I would do $150 for anyone from this forum because I feel like I should pay back all the knowledge I have gained from watching and learning from the folks here. Links is on CL and I am in NY. Great rack but I am going in a different direction and looking to make sure it goes to a good home.

Link in case anyone is interested:

Here you go. It could use a repaint, has a little rust.
