Alright so I have a 09 4.0 tacoma with a toytec boss 2inch lift with Dakar leaf springs. I’m wanting to get a 6inch lift, but not sure exactly what to do to get 6inches of lift. Any feedback or help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

It's either a drop bracket lift which requires cutting out a frame crossmember or a suspension/body lift combination.

There's a couple different drop bracket kits, Rough Country makes one of them.

Both of those types of lifts are hated and flamed on TW, you've been forewarned.

    For your enjoyment...

Here's one that's all body lift.

This is one of those times where you should start with google. Looking up “6 lift Tacoma” could be helpful.

If you are interested in what other people in Tacoma World do add tacomaworld to your search in google “6 lift Tacoma tacomaworld”. And it will bring up tacomaworld threads about what you are searching for

I would personally recommend staying at or below 3’’ of lift. I understand the physical attraction to the 6’’ lift but there’s so many factors that make me say ‘no thanks’. Like, cutting into my crossmember for example and cost.

Do a good search like @deekyn suggested and take your time.

    $0.02

    And also, welcome!

Boost, armor, lights, big tires, no savings.
Nice Head and tail lights. I see you keep your truck pretty clean. I also noticed the paint peeling near edge of rear bumper similar to my 2008.
I have heard that the Super White paint does not have a clear coat applied. Also, some other models like Rav4 are having a sort of recall on their Super White models paint. I am hoping it transfers to Tacos as well. Have you heard anything about this?

They have not. I already contscted Toyota there is no paint peeling near rear bumper? It is mostly on door pillars. That’s why I wrapped them black

Right under your driver side tail light. Just like mine. Between the bumper and the body panel in that pocket, second pic you posted.

You could search the 6 inch lift threads. Might get more useful info aside from people bashing you for even thinking about doing a 6 inch lift lol.

    I don't think anyone makes a 6" spindle lift. I've only read about 4".

People buy or build different cars/trucks for different purposes. If you want to go hardcore off-road and beat the crap out of the truck, don't get a drop bracket lift... If you want to be jacked up on 37s with 24" rims with neon light rings and roll around the Target parking lot then who cares. IT IS YOUR TRUCK! Do what you want to it and forget about the TW flamers.

That said if your going tall to show off... Go with a BDS Coilover kit (for a 6" drop bracket setup.)
    https://bds-suspension.com/product?kid=823F

for all the haters... (waiting for TW flamers heads to explode LOL)

    upload_2020-7-15_10-27-10.jpg

Perfect example of commit to what YOU want and F*<K everyone else... lol

    Lol

There is absolutely no legit reason why a drop bracket lift can't be made to do extreme offroading.

    To hell with the haters.
