Coming from the "show" that is known as the Subaru WRX I think this will be a pleasant change of pace

Yeah that's what I heard from a couple of sales guys, taken with a grain of salt ofc.. I know the plants shutting down affected production, but since Toyota reopened plants in may, should be rollin em out any week now.... Right...? hehe

 

I work for a dealer, not Toyota, but depends on a lot of factors. Allotment, availability....hell we sold more cars in the last four months than I ever thought.

 

Yep. You summed it up nicely. I doubt you'll see many more 2020s, if any at all, show up at the dealers this year. Also, don't expect to get a deal. That's not how Tacoma's work lol.

2021 models should be hitting the lots around the end of August if past trends hold true to this year. Any reason why you want a 2020 as opposed to a 2021?

 

Thats a culinary catastrophe if I've ever seen one.

 

Not necessarily expecting a deal, but not stoked about some dealerships asking price of 43k+ for an OR.. This will be my first new car purchase so not sure what a solid OTD price is on a TACO. Lowest I've been quoted is 35k for an OR..

At this point waiting for a 2021 definitely sounds like the best option. Especially with the price difference between years being so minimal. There are still 2018-2019's selling for 32k+!

I bought new since I couldn't find a used that was configured the way I liked for less than new.
Then I let @Mrs2Fang have at the GM, got a new truck for well less since it was "undesirable" to most....

 

I've seen 2015 Prerunner 2WD models listed for $28k+. So there's that.

 

Don't be afraid to travel a bit. Good buddy of mine is stationed down at fort Leonard Wood and traveled to like Indiana or Ohio or something crazy to get his truck because the dealers nearest to him wouldn't budge.

Someone somewhere has the truck you're looking for. You might want to check out some of the St Louis dealers there still seems to be a half decent stock up here

 

This. Really isn't much around here period. Traveled several times to get vehicles. Looking for a donor for my next project already, and found one in Illinois.
I'd have made offer already but shop isn't up yet....

This one is the Tealady, got it from an older lady. One owner, rare 5 speed.
Currently has the 8v redblock, but it's boosted with a 16T and various goodies.

Well, it is what she does for a living. Knows more than most sales staff do....by far.

 

I believe it. She probably would have helped me get a better deal on my current Taco. I think I got taken advantage of just a bit, but least I was able to get them to take the loan of the PreRunner.

 

so if you get the base you will get the 2.3 with the mt the 2.7 gives you to 10 speed auto unless you are talking about a 4 door

and yes i wish toyota would do more but they dont yet if they would then they would be doing really good but the good thing about competition is prices hopefully wont be so stupid high

23k for 69k 2011 while assuming a 21k loan trade-in.

They just kept running credit checks and I should have told them to stop, my phone was constantly pinging.
