Noted. The speed limiter is not the issue actually, it is just the rev limiter was as of right now as it was the only exterior uncontrolled variable in it all as he adjusted the max speed on the dyno.

He also spray painted a trail and littered in MOAB. So you are meaning to tell me I can raise my rev limiter to 6000, spray paint a trail in MOAB, AND leave all my trash behind that there will be no negative repercussions?!

This is why you need to use 4th gear if at all possible. Like Justin mentioned. Which is challenging, as it may try to downshift. That is why the speed limiter needs to be as high as possible. Plus, you're truck is closer to 1:1 at that ratio. Taking away gear reduction, which skews the output.

    Tick tock tick tock...

If littering the trail with powder cast rod material, suuuuure....lol

Technically that shouldn't happen on the trail, but the point is still remaining.

I noticed quite a few things in that video, the main thing was the injector scaling was done improperly, but that's ok. I had wondered how the N/A cal would respond with boost. I learned it's do-able! Despite the handicaps (though I don't think they are really holding anyone back too much at these power levels) of the lower resolution maps/tables. It's still tunable and a workable solution. I know this is how ProCharger is doing it. They're tuning the N/A calibrations for their setup, forgoing the TRD calibration's increased table sizes/resolution.
    Yeah, that pissed me off..

I already didn't like them before, that event sort of topped the icing on the cake.

When I got tested in 4th, it showed 277 HP/ 386 TQ at 3500 RPM. So it netted a considerable HP loss but a fat TQ increase.

Not doing a good job of leading by example, whomever that person is.

Did they go full rpm in 4th? The HP should still be higher at a higher rpm than 3500.

No I mean TQ at 3500 was at its peak but at full RPM of 5500 he got a final result of 277 HP. Hang on I'll throw the screenshot of the result up.

That looks like traction control.. Ie: throttle closure. You can see that the truck was on par for WAY more power than you actually made. The datalogs would have helped tell what's going on for sure, as I can only speculate at this point.

Good to know. I put in the call and asked for the owner. He is supposed to give me a call back once he is done on the dyno and will let him know the situation. If he grants me access to some dyno time again I will make sure I run a datalog prior to the pulls and have the guy re- running the test absolutely kill all the traction. Hell I will probably just pull all the fuses to make sure we are clean.

Do they have wifi/Hotspot? I can remote in and watch the logs as the pulls are being made.

I am not sure. I can ask. Will you need any remote software or does HPT have a remote in feature? I thought I saw that feature somewhere as I was taking a look around the VCM editor.

When I did my 340hp/370tq dyno pulls, it was done in 4th gear but I ran into the speed limiter.

Raise your top speed governor not your rev limiter. Dyno in 4th. Disable all traction control stuff. Make a 4th gear dyno pull all the way to 5.2k-5.5k rpms.

My speed governor was the first thing I had Justin remove (or up to like 200 or something like that) when we got into tuning this thing. So the issue is the rev limiter, not so much the speed limiter.

EDIT: Scratch that, I just checked. It was set at 125 MPH, so eventually it would had run out of juice. I just upped it to 200mph and upped the rev limiter to 5700 pending reflash.

Yep. Just tell me your ID/Password (when we're on the dyno) and I'll log in and do my thing.. I'll have you call me as the you get ready to make the pulls and I'll be able to let you know what's going on.

I have a relatively light wheel/tire package at 99lbs each. And 4.56 gears but the truck is probably pushing 5600lbs+. Still was a little disappointed at the 70+ pulls to get around people.
