what steps did you take to paint the ring and how is the paint holding up on it? Also, did you ever find a better option for the ring bolts? I am looking to replace mine with black as well. Looks great, thanks!

I just sanded the clear coat off then cleaned them with a paint prep and just sprayed them. I figured that they will get scratched eventually from wheeling and I will have to touch them up. I did fine some black bolts that I thought would work but they have a black oxide finish which will rust. I ended up using Rustoleum plasti dip stuff and painted the heads. It came out pretty good and didn't really scratch when I put them on. So far it's held up good but I've only been on one wheeling trip since I finished them. The color I used is a litte darker and more metallic but I like it. 20200715_102001.jpg 20200715_102045.jpg 20200715_102021.jpg

Awesome. What grit sandpaper did you use, and did you clear coat the new paint?
I think I might have tried the same Black bolts as you and they are rusted already after about a month. I was afraid plastidip might have been too thick and mess with the torx bit opening.
Also, there are metal center cap decals black with red TRD logo that I found on Etsy. Only have one pic of them but will include it below. If you’re interested I can provide a link.

I started with 80 then used 250 to smooth it a little bit. Just be careful because the 80 can really gouge it. Just use medium pressure and you will be okay. I did 3 coats of paint and 2 of a matte clear. I did a few coats on the bolts and had no issues with the torq bit not fitting. You just have to be more careful so you don't scratch them. I've seen those center cap stickers and thought about it. I have some black vinyl that I thought about using but haven't yet.

Anyone have beadlocks on a white trd sport? I’m still debating on the trd pro wheels or these.

Stock AF. My 68 Bronco and 2000 2.5RS get the mods.
I keep going back and forth myself. Either one will end up with some sort of plastidip work just because I want to play with different looks without the commitment. I would like to see some on a white truck as well.

I have loved the look of the beadlock wheels but the main problem I can’t get over is how skinny the 265/75 16 KO2’s look on this wheel. Probably going to have to move onto a wider 8-8.5” wheel at some point.

I don’t think even wheel spacers can save me.

I'm running 285/75/16's on mine with no issues. I had 1.25 spidertrax spacers on there with my stock wheels but when I out these on the spacers made them stick out to far for me. Once I removed the spacers I think it fits perfect with my set up.

105mm fits perfect over the center caps. I recommend getting the flat version. With the domed, you can only get the outer part of the adhesive to stick.

Yeah, the stock look. Have to take the rack off this weekend, into the body shop on Monday. Have to drive a F-150 or “equivalent “ for 10 days. That’s the best the car rental guys can do.

Somehow my wheels and tires always look dinky. Other Tacos with the same size tires/wheels usually look better proportioned. One of life’s mysteries.
