Since my step mom is incapable of answering a question directly, I'll ask you guys. Anyone had one of those stationary bike stands and are any worth it or are they junk?

My step mom has had one but her response to my question was that I'd be better off with a Pelaton :frusty:

I'd be better off with a million bucks but that still doesn't answer my question.

Does it have a way to adjust resistance?

They're decent. My parents and one of my buddies has one. If you're committed to using it, it'll be good, but stationary stuff is hard to get in the mindset to use it.

They are ok, but it's about the same as a treadmill. I.e. incredibly boring. A Pelaton does seem like it would be nicer than a regular stationary bike.

There are models that allow you to.
A tv nearby would certainly be a requirement. I could always try and search for a used one so I don't feel bad about getting rid of it if I don't like it.

Oh, just abso-fuckin'-lutely wonderful! Part of which is due to this excellent weather and I'm just so excited for more. Putting on an extra 15 lbs working from home hasn't helped with the fun of that either. When I go inthe garage or outside to do mods or whatever it is miserable. I so miss winter!

 How you been? Did you get kicked out? I see you changed your location. It's so specific now.

Not a stationary bike. A stationary bike stand. I already have a bike. It seems silly to buy a pelaton because if the weather was nice I would just be going outside.

Ok. I assumed that you had a particular model in mind. In my book, you need resistance to get any benefit out of it. Without resistance, you will be just spinning your wheels. :rimshot:

I had a Cycle-Ops and it could kick your ass! It was a fluid coupling so the harder you pedal, the more resistance it has. It can get loud if you have knobby tires though. Also a great way to hold up your bike when adjusting derailleurs and stuff. Get one!
