    just because the pistons are the same size does not mean the pads are equal. The pads are larger to accommodate the larger surface area of the larger rotor. In addition, the further you are away from the rotational axis applying force, the less force required to stop the rotational mass.

    Yes, exactly. It's the larger rotor and pads that make the difference. Lots of great physics and science minds here, but I'll break it down, further away from the center axis or rotation- larger radius (.5 x diameter) rotor means wayyyy more torque to manipulate said rotation. In this case, slowing/ stopping.

    interesting if the GX has larger pads. The other setup of the 5th gen 4runner 14WA calipers have a piston thats 1mm bigger and 338 rotors. I thin they are thicker as well. The funny thing is the pads on the Tacoma and the 14WA calipers are the same. interesting take on the 14WH.
