    Sweet!

What model is that? I already have a number of Makita tools, so I was looking at the 108 or whatever (huge) and the smaller versions, and couldn’t make up my mind. Saw reviews of mediocre torque for some models and was thinking of the Milwaukee that people seem to like, but damn I don’t want two battery types.

then I saw this! Why the fuck don’t I already own an impact wrench?

So I ordered it! it’s new this summer. Mid range torque 240ft/lbs and 430 of nut busting toque. I can’t wait to use it. In fact... I’m waiting on it to put my rear drive shaft back together. Plus it’s light enough to be my garage/trail impact. I’m psyched

Do you guys do recommendations? I'd love some input.

I'm in escrow on a house, and starting to look at building out a power tool collection. I like the idea of having one set of batteries, and buying a bunch of (or a set of) compatible tools. I'd be looking to eventually build out as diverse of a set of power tools to use around the house (drills/drivers), on the truck/car (impacts, etc), and the land (i.e. saws, maybe a blower etc).

what are your recommendations for this purpose? Makita? Milkwaukee? DeWalt?

Eh, my thought is pick one that you like, you can't really go wrong with a mid tier name brand these days. They're all going to be about a wash in terms of having some tools that are better than others. I've loved my Makita stuff, FWIW. I'm assuming you'll get replies along the same lines with other guys loving their milwaukee, dewalt, Bauer (ok maybe not on this one...haha).

+1 for Makita. They are all probably pretty similar, but having had a few others I just prefer the quality of Makita. Just feel well built.

Pick a color and just go with it

I own a construction company and the majority of my tools are Dewalt and I’ve recently began purchasing Makita as well

I like all the colors. tough choice. I guess I'll just buy whichever color has the best sale when I actually go to buy... lol

This will be easy. It's how I operate with everything. especially the wheel size on my mountain bike :D

Milwaukee m12 stuff. Lighter, smaller, and plenty of power for most home user needs. Plus tools for all trades in that size. I grab my m12 stuff over the bigger 18v stuff unless I need the 18v power

As for bigger 18v....as others have said just pick a color that has the options of like. I have a good amount of Ryobi since it's cheap and good for the tools that are nice to have once a year. Also have some Milwaukee m18 stuff too (mid and high torque impacts).

But DeWalt is used a ton at work here and get abused and works great too

Ha! As long as our tires aren't measured in millimeters, I think we can all get along. <Organic Belgian Trippel made with hops grown inside the keebler elf house by a brewmaster that can only be identified by the symbol " ₪ "

FWIW when I initially began wearing out the stripe on my bank card, I choose Dewalt because of their 12” cordless mitre saw, it outperformed the Milwaukee at the time and I haven’t looked back since. I’m not remotely nice to my tools and they keep working for me. Only reason I have recently started buying Makita is they are (last time I checked) the only ones to make a variable speed cordless grinder (I own 5 now)

HF earthquake is a solid gun. But my Milwaukee is a powerful beast and runs on the same battery as all my other tools. HF or Milwaulkee is what most of the desert race teams use when I wander the pits during staging if that means anything.
