Drives fine at those speeds, but the MPG suffers. Thats fast if you want decent MPG for sure.

My buddies are die hard 3 wheelers lovers, they swear by em and that's all they ride. They are cool I took one for a spin and I was loving it, not enough to make me get one thou.

265/75R16 Wildpeak AT3W, Softopper, Kicker speakers, shift knob, Ventvisors, Tint, Husky Weatherbeaters, Hondo Garage radio knobs. The to do list: Bilstein 6112/5160, 3 leaf add-a-leafs, lights, alu skid, PRP seat covers...
TFL Truck towed a 5600lb horse trailer with the 2017 Taco and a 2017 Tundra and both trucks got 8.4ish mpg on the same 98 mile loop. The difference is that my 2017 TRD OR gets 19+ mpg in the summer and my 2014 Tundra got 14.5 mpg empty. Its a gas truck, doesn't matter if its the 3.5L in our 3rd gens or the 7.3L in the Superduty or any gas engine in between, boosted or not, if you tow where its not flat you are prob gonna get less than 10 mpg. Esp. if its anything in the wind like a horse/travel/enclosed trailer. OP did good with the weight/speed of his tow.

While I do not doubt those results, it's a Tundra it gets shitty mileage. Run the same test with a V8 Ford, Chevy or Dodge and ant of those 3 will get significantly better mileage. But yeah, if that's not the main purpose for your truck and a midsize suits the mission 90% of the time it's still the way to go

Geez i thought my 2001 4.7 tundra was bad empty getting 17 mpg highway, and 13 around town. Even towing my 2 place triton enclosed trailer with sleds or my 2k lb boat it would averaged 14.5 highway. So far my bone stock 2020 tacoma has seen no worst than 19 mpg on trips fishing. Its now averaging 23.1 on several 50-75 mile trips.

I got 13.5 mpg towing a 3500 pound load this weekend. Average speed was about 50-55, stop and go through some towns. Speeds 70+ will really hurt your gas mileage.

13.5 is good towing i think. My VW Touareg V-6 Diesel only got 15 at best towing a 6000 lb Lance trailer.
