You can get a molle panel for behind the back seats, throw Lock on there.

-OP, this is gonna be your only “solution” for lockable, hidden, Tacoma storage. But wow. That’s a lotta coin for storage for one gun. I’m with one of the previous posters. Build yourself a nice “pistol” truck gun or just carry a normal pistol. Take the little .22 in a case when your going target shooting. After all variety is the spice of life.

I recommend 300blk, 9.5" barrel, pistol brace stock and a suppressor. Small, plenty of power, quiet....

It's not exactly the solution you're looking for but if you get one of those "dog hammocks" - I like the Duluth model myself - the rear foot well will be hidden from view. That's where I transport rifles if I know there may be prying eyes.

That vault looks real nice but damn - not cheap

I pine for the days when you could keep a rifle on a rear window rack. But meth happened and those days are long gone

Depending on the job at hand, my M4 is in my footwell, in my F350, but no armor in the doors. When not deployed it's triple locked in a truck vault. Not a quick access situation, but that's the way it is.

Is it used for anything other than target practice?

I don't care for pistol AR's. I have shot a few in civilian and machine gun spec (SBR-not pistol), and built one as well. Don't care for it. Way too many compromises for my taste. I carry and handle my issued M4 often enough that there is no novelty in it, and my .22 is more accurate, cheaper and once I get my suppressor I won't have to lock my dogs in the truck to shoot it. All the tactical stuff is fun, but static range work is pretty boring. I get no pleasure out of shooting a sweet gun on a static range with a ton of rules at a piece of paper. I'd rather shoot a .22 at empty beer cans and rotten vegetables, so I do.

I know the Duluth hammock you are talking about; it looks nice. I wound up completely removing my rear seats for my dogs. I stuff sleeping bags and blankets in the footwell and put their beds on top of all that. They have a lot more room that way, and I have never put a person in the back seat.

Not really. I have put an injured deer down with it, so I keep it in my work truck sometimes for that purpose. I wouldn't say I use it for target practice, I just like to shoot random trash with it. Like a lot of us did when we were kids...water jugs, coffee cans, fruit, you know.

I did a "rear seat delete" and have plenty of space under the platform I put in for my Henry lever gun.

We carried shotguns and .22 as kids. Mostly shotguns. Cottonmouths are no joke in the Texas bayous.

Check out conceal pro on FB. They are supposed to come out with something for behind the rear seats.

Not a fan of the 10-22, personally. I intentionally chose a bolt gun for simplicity. There are a ton of awesome options out there for them, though, and lots of people seem to like them.

I'm not real worried about beating it up. It is good looking, but I got the stock because the factory piece was so bad I nearly wrote the gun off. Now it's my favorite gun to shoot.
