I haven't experienced anything like that and I'm in Texas Hill COUNTRY with two tanks consumed. Cruise Control is normal too. I do run the 91/stock/non-thx though.

It's right around 3500 rpms, etc on. in D 55-65mph up hill. Cruising behind traffic getting ready for the passing lane, move over left, push on the skinny and it just winds up and takes off. Kinda feels like a Turbo kicking in or a 2-stroke dirt bike kicking in at higher RPM. Haven't paid much attention to how high the tach goes because I'm concentrating on traffic and cops but I can let off and it will stay in that gear for a while unless I wait long enough and it'll shift up. However the next gear up will usually not have enough power so I'll slightly push down on the skinny again and whamo, takes off like a rocket. So, Traveling over mountain passes is either a Wide-Open balls to the wall or keep it in the next gear up with just enough power to maintain speed behind Travel Trailers and Semi-Trucks. When it does this in the winter time it gets kinda sketchy. Wants to break free a bit. Fine with me unless there are other cars around. Like I said it's done this on Mountain Passes Since day 1. Bought the rig at a dealership 4hrs away with 4 Passes to climb and it did it the whole way home. Kinda liked it on "New Truck Day"! but now it's obnoxious. I'll try gears.

I did a few runs over passes in my area. Nothing dramatic on regular stock tune and I was driving over 70 mph.
You should check out none Thx version

Mountain passes are where GL comes in really really handy.

Cool, my toyota's have always done this. My 1989 3.0, my 1990 celica alltrac, my 1999 4runner, my 2013 lexus gs350, my dads 2017 highlander....etc. If they didn't do this, you would have less horsepower and torque at higher RPM. Would you prefer less power to get rid of this power surge?

Yes, I've been there too. Gear change to 4.88's solved the issue. With the tune and the new gearing, it's a dream.

I think I know what y'all are talking about, but I only get it when I REALLY lay on the skinny pedal, it lurches and kinda screams around 3500 RPM, but if I'm accelerating normally, everything is usually pretty smooth I think

Yeah, same here. Apparently we need to squeal and scream and whine and pester Mat to get it released already, since that apparently works. Whereas trying to be polite, supportive, quiet and non-distractive doesn't get rewarded much.

Has anyone seen any updates anywhere about 2.0 Final? I check their Facebook every once in a while and it’s all turbos and VFTuner now. I’d love to dig into VFTuner but want 2.0 Final before I cash in my tune pack to edit.

If the trade was that we got more torque between 1500 and 3500, I'm gonna bet that a bunch of people would make that trade in a second.

You're basically describing the diesel. would you like 10s 0-60?

Isn't that the point of variable timing and all that? Change characteristics depending on revs (I obviously don't really know what I'm talking about). Surely some torque could be found without sacrificing ALL of the top end? Again though, I know nothing, just asking!

From my limited knowledge, the base cam profile is meant to increase power at lower rpms, then the VVT adjusts cam timing to increase power at higher RPM's...

First time I read that post I missed the part about @Rafael@OVTune making the final files. Sounds like they could be close to releasing the final AT tunes.

Haven’t seen anything on the FM update though which I understood was necessary for the final drop.

To clarify so I understand correctly; is there is a performance version of 2.0 coming?

If so, will this differ than the current 2.0 Premium TXH (Enhanced Throttle Response)?

So to clarify, the current Enhanced Throttle Response/Premium is NOT the performance version, correct? If so, that is awesome and definitely something to look forward to!
