FYI... the UCA's and leafs are the same as the OR models, so they don't carry much value. I think I sold my factory UCA's for $20.

I was able to sell my TRD Pro suspension with 14k miles for $1450... but I had to pay $150 to ship them to TX. $1500 is pretty much the ceiling.

I'm new to owning a tacoma and TW so reading about the After market side is mind blowing to me ha.
I figured the Pros would be what I'd like for the long term/reliability and what I do for a mall crawler/light trails.

If you don't ever want to lift they are perfect.

The biggest killer to the Pro suspension is adding too much weight in aftermarket accessories to the front of the truck (skids, bumper, winch, sliders, etc). Because the Pro suspension is not adjustable, the more weight you add, you'll eventually get sag and nose dive.

However, if you "plan" to stay stock, then the Pro suspension is a legit 2.5" shock and decent quality. They're also rebuildable and Eibach is working on aftermarket coils to pair with them for a moderate lift.

Bingo. I picked up my stage 1 icons with icon AAL for almost the same price as the TRD Pro shocks. Plus they're height adjustable, which came in handy when I went to 33s and added armor. People like to trash icons here, but I have had zero leaks or any broken top hats. Then again, I'm not jumping my truck or going 60mph down washboard roads. I would avoid OME though. The standard ones ride like ass unless you have a ton of weight, and the BP-51s it seems like everyone here has had them leak.

Kind of. I think you could get the coilovers and struts, but all the extra stuff that goes into a lift adds up. Even adding leaf springs and UCA's is going to get you over $2500. I think if you wait around for someone to sell something though used, you'd be in the clear for sure.

Agreed on the extras costing more, but the ad is for $2500 and for that price you can get brand new coils/shocks that are superior and you can go without lifting or just use it to level out.

Keep in mind, that price includes the rear (painted to match) bumper too. Not that I think that adds much value.

Can you elaborate on the bumper? Is it colored matched to the original model?

From the factory, Tacoma's come with either faux chrome bumper caps (see below)

    upload_2020-7-16_10-21-42.jpg

Or they come with color matched bumper caps (see below)

    upload_2020-7-16_10-22-24.jpg

It depends on the model of the Tacoma and the package. Basically, if you have backup sensors and BSM, you'll have painted to match caps. If you don't, you get faux chrome. All Pro's and Limited's have painted to match (because they all have the premium sensor package) and only some Sports or Offroads, have painted caps, dependent on if they have the premium package.

I believe all SR5's and SR's have chrome.

Ah okay that makes sense. It's not something to take in consideration if I do a trd pro suspension swap if I plan to stick with my chrome!

    Thank you.
