Best part is that since my Goodyear Wrangler MT/R 285s are so damn heavy ... the 315s weight the same with the wheel mounted.

Lol that's an older pic. I bought a single 315 and another SCS F5 wheel to mount to it so I can use that for test fitment before mounting the remaining 4 tires.

I went with the Goodyear Wrangler Ultraterrain since they're pretty damn light &fit my off-road-lack-of-aggressive sidewall needs!

I'm regearing to 4.88 but I'm curious to see how these 35s will feel on stock gears compared to the heavy 33s. They are an inch wider at 12.5" so there will be a tad more rolling resistance.

You geared for this already, or is that next? I'm looking forward to this jump to 315's. You getting Sir Tub's Alot to do your clearancing? Hoping for a good vid on that one.

Ok scratch the first part and just answer the second part. Fun fact: Sir Tubs Alot was also my nickname in high school.

I'll be starting a whole new video playlist for everything related to fitting 35s. I will be regearing and got some 3rd members on order from ECGS, but those probably won't arrive until mid-August ... so I have plenty of time to cut, hack, whack, bash, curse until then.

They'll be fine with stock gears. I originally ran 35's and had no problem at all. I never even cut the flares or hammered the a-pillar pinchweld back. Only thing it rubbed was the cab mount at full lock. That's why I won't run aftermarket UCA's, because they DO move your wheel back for adding lost caster. I'd rather deal with 1.5 max positive caster than hammer & cut my truck to make them fit.

First question to answer in the new video. Why 4.88s over 4.56s? You know its coming!

Lol true. There will be a whole vid for the gear install (assembled 3rd members) plus a follow-up for why I picked 4.88.

Why did you drop down to the 295s from 35s?

Mainly because I thought it would be better for when I tow the boat. But after going down to 33's I didn't notice any difference. Plus I'm probably going to be selling the boat soon:( That is why I'll be getting 35's again soon since my tread is getting thin. Probably around September or October I'll get them. I can't run a 12.50/35 without a wheel spacer because that width will rub the UCA. I'm thinking of going with the 11.50/35 Nitto ridge grapplers

Edit: I'm wrong, it's been a while since I looked at tires and mis-remembered. The ridge grappler comes in a 11.50/37, not 35. I would have to hammer and/or cut to fit those.....but maybe
Edit#2:They DO make them in a 285/75/18 which is a 35/11.50/18 which is probably what I'll go with

Of course, as far as rubbing is concerned, I don't think I ever had the 35's at full stuff either:notsure:

There's the trick. I want to get the 35s to where I can wheel and have them not rub most of the time.

Had some fun test fitting a 35 without any additional trimming. Checkout the YouTube channel for the vid.
