Hopefully this clarifies all current questions.

The current 2.0 released is the base version. ECT works similar to that of stock, it does not map switch, and gearlock is not available.
THX is not performance version, it's base + modified throttle

There will be a version released that is 2.0 + gearlock + ECT map switch.
there will be a performance variant of that version.

Mat, Thank You for the clarification! This is awesome! ! I know you hate answering this question. But do you have a 'rough' time frame for this performance variant?

it might be “roughly” when FM gets the big update.

Took my truck in for Pennsylvania state emissions test today, running 2.0 regular stock. Truck passed no problems. Didn't expect any, but figured sharing might give some folks piece of mind.

I guess I wasn't clear. I didn't mean to imply that I want NO power over 3500 RPM, just that some of that power would be of better use, in a truck, in the lower RPMs. From the factory, the torque curve looks like shit until you get to 3500. If there was a better cam profile and ECU/TCU tuning, we could have had better torque down low, without losing ALL of the power up high. A shorter jump between 3rd and 4th gear, and 4.88 or 5.29 gears would have helped the drivability as well.

And, if I could have gotten this truck with a diesel, I would have. I want a truck to do truck things. I'm not interested in a race car or waiting for the VTEC to kick in, yo.

    Can't wait!
No wonder my truck had problems towing my camper to Tennessee and back 2 weeks ago. On previous versions (with gear lock/performance) it was so much better than stock or a base tune. Can't wait to have the tow mode back as well although I never got to tow with it. :/
Wait, there's going to be a tow mode without Atkinson mode and TC unlocking, right?

    Excellent - thanks!

Will there also be a TOW MODE? Or was that just hearsay?

    ^^ I agree completely.

I just came back from a 700 mile round trip - from 6000 ft over two passes each 10,000 plus - did same journey on 2.0 final beta release (4.88/87 octane/GL/ETC/Map switch) and had zero issues. Recent journey was on 2.0 Final (04b04-regular-stock-4.88) was less than stellar in S Mode Towing. I unfortunately deleted the last release of 2.0 final beta otherwise I would go back to it in a "Flash." Anyone have this in P5F? even with the start-up hiccup it is better than current 2.0 Final. ??? @SpeySquatch

I have everything 04b04 going back to 1.04r. Which do you want?

    But you CAN'T edit/modify a p5f file in vFTuner.
Only .vFT files can be edited.

Good to know. I don't know SH*% about the working of vf Tuner - was thinking you could use it to modify p5f files. Guess I will have to wait for Mat to release it in p5f or hope someone with vf Tuner and 04b04 is looking for a little extra $ when it comes out in .vft format.

I don't know SH*% about the working of vf Tuner either. But I did recall that you can't edit p5f files with it, only vFT files. :hattip:

200 miles back on 19800 04b04 and holy frijoles did my MPGs go back up. With 2.0 final I couldn’t get higher then 14.3 after the 500 miles.

200 miles back on the old 19800 and you can see the jump. Something is up with the 2.0 final. The thx was cool until you hit dirt.

04B04 2.0 19800 4.88 tune on 32’s with 5.29 gears is best for my rig.

I don’t drive over 75mph. It pulls hills in 6th gear that would have had my down shifting to 4th with stock gear. Getting 19.5 mpg (calculated) combined.
