Washer relocation completed:

 

Installed Extreme Dimensions P/N 115392 ram air hood:



Had to drill a hole for the prop rod. The fan shroud seal is transferred from the stock hood and attached with 3M molding tape:

 

Added some door bolt check arm covers. Just gives a cleaner look when door is opened.

I installed the cool white lights under the hood and in bed area. It really does make a difference.

Just out of curiosity, where did you place your button?

I placed mine in on the metal part by the tail lights. I did that because it is easier to reach.

Overall, I gave this a 5 out of 10 on install, and only because I'm a noob with with wiring.

 

I already had 12v power running to my cubby from an earlier mod, so the install was pretty easy for me... just tapped into that wire. I installed my button next to the 110v outlet:

 

Added some subtle decals. Now people who pass by will know who they are looking at.

 

added a steering wheel emblem overlay, Blacked out the badges, Tailgate inserts, and installed a tonneau cover!

 

Yes, the little things do make a difference sometimes. I found TRD covers on EBay last year.

 

Got a hood scoop off a local trade

 

That's just wrong!!! a Sport hood on an Off Road Taco. Just kidding. It's all about the mods and what makes us individuals in a shared Tacoma enthusiast community.

The rubber brake pad cover is removed and holes are drilled into the metal base of the brake. Careful to avoid the thick part in the back. Use the supplied nuts and bolts to put it together. As for the accelerator pedal, drill a small pilot hole then screw the plate down into the plastic.

The pedals are made really well. Well worth the price and extra time I waited for the black finish. It’s very grippy much better then the cheap aluminum covers you can buy that just go on top.

My dad is a long time Toyota truck guy and he never thought to change his pedals till he tried mine. He got the same ones as well.

Note: if you have larger feet and wear wide boots you might want to shift the brake pedal a bit off center if you are worried about how close you might get to the other pedal. The brake pedal is slightly larger then stock which is a nice bonus as well.

 

I tinted my front windows. The guy tolled me it was legal.

More what I did with my Tacoma than to my Tacoma, but that counts

Went out in the woods to shoot my LCP II for the first time. Much easier to shoot than I thought it might be. While wandering around I stumbled upon a guy that high centered himself trying to turn into a camping spot that he had no chance of making it to. Stopped and helped him get out safely and back on his way.



Saw these signs all over the Mt Hood National forest.



I will never understand how people can want to go out in the woods to camp and leave the place trashed.

Ended up finding a nice camping spot I camped in about 10 years ago or so and loved it. Forgot how to find it since then. Was a nice surprise to stumble upon it. Sadly it was a perfect example of why these signs have been posted. (That and the fact the sign saying not to shoot trees, mounted on a tree, had bullet holes in it.)



In addition to all the trash, someone left their poop bucket. Even bagged up a lot of the trash before leaving it there.

I cleaned it all up (except for the human waste that was no longer in the bucket).


Sadly there was broken glass everywhere. Cannot really see it in the pictures, but it's all over the place. I didn't have any way to clean that up. I don't even know how you would do that. So even after cleaning the place up it's still trashy.

Fuck any asshole who does this shit. Leave no trace. It's really not hard.

Anyway had a lot of fun wandering around, enjoying the day.



Mt Jefferson ^

 

Finally stopped procrastinating and swapped my chrome bumper caps for some painted ebay ones.



I removed the whole rear bumper by following Victory 4x4's youtube video. I didn't remove the cap sensor the same as him though. All I did was undo the wiring harness clamps leading up to the sensor for some slack, then push the sensor out the front to easily undo the connection, and plop it in the new one.

My main hiccup was popping the plastic piece off in the middle. I snapped off a couple of the clips under the "step" part on either side. I guess I pulled it at too much of an angle, but it's still decently snug. Might keep my eye out for something local to replace for peace of mind down the road.

Along with the clips, those sensors saw some damage too. They're both more or less like the picture below.



Does anyone know if this will be an issue? It still went back in pretty snug - just missing a piece of it.
