@G8R_Taco , hey now, don't go knocking the 30-06, remember at one time is was king of the hill. You can still go into any small town sporting goods or gun store and buy ammo for it. There was a sniper in vietnam(Carlos Hathcock), and he scored many kills with this round. There are more loads available for this caliber than I believe any other, but I could be wrong. Killed the only decent buck(10) with my MR7 before my back went out on me.

My buddy both a 30-06. Loves it for the range and hunting. Good stopping power, but more recoil than I need for the range

I should clarify....she doesn't want me bringing it home unless it's Double Caramel Magnum Bars. For whatever reason, she doesn't complain about those:notsure:

@CrippledHo I won't argue that fact with you. When I used to sight in the scope with different hand loads, about 20 rounds and I called it a day.

Hey David. Please don’t misunderstand. No beef with the veritable 30-06. M-1 Garand says it all! Just for the shooting we did back in NM (500 yards) I could consistently touch with the .308 (my reloads) over the 30-06 and my shoulder was happier. We would go all day.
I’m really happy to see your progress! Keep on keepin’ on man.

@StayinStock , look for it later tonight. I might even have a photo of it on a trail cam if I can find it. I'll even post a pic when I killed it.

She may have a story or two from when we started dating but the last 28 years have been extremely mellow. Aside from me being a dumbass.

just pushing your button to get a rise out of you, believe me I understand. That's why I really used to enjoy shooting my dads savage model 99 in .300 savage, and my current remington model 721 in .300 savage. It's the cartridge the .308 was developed from.
