Baofengs can tx and rx on FRS and GMRS. If you download CHIRP (its free) and have a programming cable you can program it quite easily.

On a side note, picked up some A/C Pro at my local Walmart this evening. Family & I have an OBX trip coming up before the end of summer and I’d like to have decently functioning a/c while on my way down there, especially with having my son ride with me. I’m sure there may be a leak somewhere, it’s a 20 year old system almost. But who knows. I’m gonna try to get this stuff hooked up before the end of the weekend and I’ll report back with what happens!

I would be leery. I’ve heard a lot of people caution against using those types of kits because it’s easy to pump too much refrigerant into the system and blow seals and whatnot, making it worse. AC is one thing I personally would take to a pro.

So y'all are going to trail south to north from the Edinburg side I'm assuming? Or are you going up Woodstock tower road over the mountain to the north entrance and taking the trail south?

Nothing to it but to get back into it.

Shoe Creek was a great trail. Some water crossings, fairly large rocks and so on. To bad it's been shut down in the middle (late 2014). New land owner got tired of people venturing off the trail to play on obstacles on his land.

Those quick fix things can work for temporary issues. The ones with the stop leak in them will jack up a system in a heartbeat. Some get lucky, most don't.
Agreed.. but Can be done if you know what you are doing. Would I screw with mine on an older vehicle, quite possible yes. Would I screw with some one else's... No Sir at all.

I normally run from north to south because it puts me closer to heading home (2.5hr. drive). Plus, if I feel like messing around Taskers Gap, then I hit that one too.

I'm on y'alls time and dime. Doesn't make a diff to me which way we go. I've already planed for a long day.
