Would take the Bronco over a Jeep any day of the week. Ford's made great strides over the past few years with their ecoboost engines. I'd be curious to see if people build overlanding type rigs out of these. There's not a lot of cargo space, even with the 4dr version. Can't imagine being able to pack for two people + a dog for a week with the Bronco.

If I had fuck you money I'd definitely grab one for a dedicated wheeling rig. But for my needs there's no way I'd give up a truck bed for one, and If I wanted an SUV type I'd still probably go with a 4runner. Hopefully it pushes Toyota to do some cool stuff with the next gen 4runner though.

Don’t forget that CAFE and emissions standards need to be met.

Mike Levin has already received many outcries regarding the ‘squatch and M7 issue. Far as I can tell they are really receptive to the idea, my guess is it will be an option by the time the configurator is live next month. All the trail tech included with the 10 speed is impressive, although a little cheesy like Toyota’s crawl control.

So now toyota owners will have to learn to hate bronco owners, just like jeep owners....

    Short learning curve.

If it doesn't say Toyota, Hate.

It's amazing how the buzz around the V8 Wrangler teaser has almost evaporated, but the Bronco is still front and center on most truck forums.

Ford hit a home run with this one.

Toyota owners have been known to easily hate anyone including other Toyota owners, as seen in the 3rd gen subforum.

It seems like the more features anyone adds to a vehicle platform, the more opportunity there is for that thing to need fixing. Hardly anyone had trouble with their keyless entry in 1979, but ever since it was introduced in 1980 the average number of issues rose almost immediately.

My 2016 Taco Sport with 25k miles is basically parked until I decide which Bronco model to reserve. Been looking hard for a low mileage FJ but a new Bronco is a better value in the over $30k price range.

Yeah. IFS is only used on weak-ass mall crawlers and futuristic prototype vehicles that are just for the showroom. People who actually need to off-road, like it’s life or death, ALwAyS choose Solid Front Axle!

If they had a solid front axle on the new Bronco THEN it would be the real deal. I have not reserved a Bronco but have been toying with the idea. I honestly hope that a great low mileage FJ pops up so I can get the proven 4.0 because, as much as I like the Bronco, that 2.7 turbo just doesn't seem to be the ass that will support that truck for 150k miles or more. If it was the 3.5 Ford it would be much more worthy. The 2.7 is the base engine in all the lower line Ford trucks. Still would be better than a 4 banger Pinto engine.

Spy shots got leaked. Toyota is said to be testing removable doors and roof right now. Gonna be called the Tacoma F.R.E. “Full Retard Edition”, exclusively for the North American market. Comes with leather. Stoked!!!!

I dunno I feel like the 3.5 would be too much for the Broncos purpose. Plus the 2.7 has some credibility and power

We have 2.7EBs and 3.5EBs and V8s in our work fleet. The 2.7s have the most get up and go. The V8s drive terrible.....no power and a limp throttle. The 3.5s get terrible real world MPGs, and the only benefit is towing over the 2.7. If I had to buy a Ford F-150, for myself, I’d buy the 2.7L.

My full laden work truck with 2.7L EB blows the doors off my empty Tacoma, and gets the same mileage. Ford knows it’s shit with these motors. The twin turbo 2.7L EB will be more than enough for this Bronco, I’d wager.
