Welds aren’t great, but they don’t suck as much anymore.

I like seeing more and more hi lift adapters being made square. Mines square which I bought from mobtown and as far as I know, they were the first ones. It’s very effective at cupping the slider rails. Those welds look great.

You are better off without it. They hold the heat. I have to keep this one for when I sell it.

    Thanks!

Square is just easier to make honestly. I also feel like it’s more universal.

i have only worked with round tube once and I can unstudied hate. I mated a coupe pieces of the bed bars that my buddy Matt scraped from his #overland trailer to make bedside protection for my rear bumper. Just getting that notched right to fit on a flat surface sucked. I’m looking forward to learning to cope and fit tube and eventually build a crawler, but I know it’s going to be a miserable learning process.

Yeah, I can see that. The notching is what kills me, but it's my own doing. I'm doing it with an angle grinder so it's difficult to get the cuts just right. Even stepping up to a band saw or cold cut saw would be hugely beneficial.

Nope. Well, yes but I absolutely hate that thing with a passion. It was given to me by a friend and I've used it all of 3 times. I can't stand it. That's going to be my next buy is a quality saw. This cold cut saw looks absolutely phenomenal so I'm thinking of going this route.

bless your heart. I cut one piece of square tube with an angle grinder and went out and bought a chop saw. Technically I bought it to cut the quarter round when I did the flooring in my house, and did a darn good job with a 120 tooth wood cutting blade.

I got the evolution rage 2 saw, not saying it’s the best but I have been very happy with it. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Evoluti...RsPywbT_4Sc8IERbdlxoCmisQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

cut through 1.5” solid round stock like butter.

Go buy a harbor freight hole saw notcher for $40 right now, makes a huge difference.

If you want to spend a little more money the JD squared one is much better quality and is about $300. I’ve done more tubes than I can count with a grinder only and it sucks. The notcher will change your life

That's why I haven't gotten a notcher yet, because I want to get a quality notcher in the $200-$300 range and the bender sucked up all those funds when it's as all said and done. The jd2 one looks nice.

I have the harbor freight notcher. It’s not great but once you shim it and lube it, it works well. For the whole $40 that it cost, it would be worth it till you can get a better one.

    Lots of sail boat fuel
Get an O/A torch and do it by hand, touch up with a grinder. Saves a good amount of time.
