On my '07 DC, if I kit the lock button on my fob and any door is open, it will not lock the truck.

All doors must be closed for the fob button to lock the doors.

is this normal? (gawd I hope not)

Yes, that is the way it's supposed to work. In fact, it should honk at you or something out of normal if any door is open (I think).

    okay,... thanks for the response.

is there any reason why it shouldn't lock the doors if a door is open? Every other car on the planet does **

** some exaggeration may be used here

prevents locking keys in car. My old car i was able to do this. If i had to carry stuff, i would lock the doors while sitting in the car then i had 2 hands to carry stuff. On a few occasions i set the keys on the center console instead of putting them in my pocket. Then i have to call AAA. lol

well that seems to be that then .... :(

I was reading another thread about locks, when I was searching for this answer, that was talking about the doors automatically locking when engaging drive.

Is this possible in a 2nd gen Taco?

sad but true, I was also a little upset to find out that you have to pay extra to get your car to honk when you lock your doors.

The key fob won't work to lock the doors if the engine is running.

Like - if you're running the truck in the winter to warm it up. You can't walk away with the key fob and try to lock the truck (with it running).

Also you better get to the truck in 29 seconds after unlocking the doors with the fob or you'll be fumblin' for it again.
