More what I did with my Tacoma than to my Tacoma, but that counts :D

Went out in the woods to shoot my LCP II for the first time. Much easier to shoot than I thought it might be. While wandering around I stumbled upon a guy that high centered himself trying to turn into a camping spot that he had no chance of making it to. Stopped and helped him get out safely and back on his way.

    20200715_143820[1].jpg

Saw these signs all over the Mt Hood National forest.

    20200715_141700[1].jpg

I will never understand how people can want to go out in the woods to camp and leave the place trashed.

Ended up finding a nice camping spot I camped in about 10 years ago or so and loved it. Forgot how to find it since then. Was a nice surprise to stumble upon it. Sadly it was a perfect example of why these signs have been posted. (That and the fact the sign saying not to shoot trees, mounted on a tree, had bullet holes in it.)

    20200715_190304[1].jpg

In addition to all the trash, someone left their poop bucket. Even bagged up a lot of the trash before leaving it there.:mad:

I cleaned it all up (except for the human waste that was no longer in the bucket).

    20200715_191339[1].jpg
Sadly there was broken glass everywhere. Cannot really see it in the pictures, but it's all over the place. I didn't have any way to clean that up. I don't even know how you would do that. So even after cleaning the place up it's still trashy. :(

Fuck any asshole who does this shit. Leave no trace. It's really not hard.

Anyway had a lot of fun wandering around, enjoying the day.

Finally stopped procrastinating and swapped my chrome bumper caps for some painted ebay ones.

    20200716_204235.jpg

I removed the whole rear bumper by following Victory 4x4's youtube video. I didn't remove the cap sensor the same as him though. All I did was undo the wiring harness clamps leading up to the sensor for some slack, then push the sensor out the front to easily undo the connection, and plop it in the new one.

My main hiccup was popping the plastic piece off in the middle. I snapped off a couple of the clips under the "step" part on either side. I guess I pulled it at too much of an angle, but it's still decently snug. Might keep my eye out for something local to replace for peace of mind down the road.

Along with the clips, those sensors saw some damage too. They're both more or less like the picture below.

    20200716_204124.jpg

Does anyone know if this will be an issue? It still went back in pretty snug - just missing a piece of it.

You’re a good person. I always try to take leave no trace a step further and take any litter I can find and leave it cleaner than when I found it.

Sadly the shitty people really do ruin trails and off road areas. Took my gf up to one of my old favorite spots from College (made it through a snowfield no one else could get past besides a lifted 4runner and another Taco) to get away to a high alpine lake and you can’t drive up to it anymore sadly cause of crap like what you saw. Still was beautiful. Cheers!

You had the parking sensors on a chrome bumper? Thought having them required a color-keyed bumper.

Kudos to you for not only leaving no footprint from your stay but for cleaning up after the disgusting people who were there before you.

Unfortunately people don't care to learn about LNT principles or they're are no longer school/after school programs that educate children on outdoor ethics and the importance of leaving a place you visit or stay at in better, natural state than you found it in.

I was fortunate to have outdoor education opportunities growing up, though never was in scouts due to being a year-round swimmer in my youth. I ended up getting certified after college ironically enough as a National LNT trainer.

My friends that I got into hiking are/were all smokers, and without me even saying anything they all "field stripped" their cig butts...now the whole what's the right way to poo in the woods, yeah that took some education for a few of them!

Anyways always nice to see people (albeit due to ignorance of others) doing their LNT best when outdoors!

I hope those areas aren't closed, especially because they're on my bucket list of National Parks to hit!

Sadly slobs are everywhere even among our own ranks. Kudos for stepping up as best you could.
A rule I was taught at a very young age was to always carry out more than you carried in whenever possible.

It's all about respect or the lack of it.

A trash bag in every Tacoma would be a great mod.

Why didn't it come with one? I mean, if it's actually a 4x4 it should already have had it from the factory.

I've got a quicksand sport. I can't decide if I need the contrast or not. I think it will look better without and my wife says to quit messing with the truck

I’m assuming cost savings by manufacture or maybe just styling? I believe for 2020 it’s included on the Pro and Limited. Not sure about Sports and SRs.

Weird. I know my truck didn't have the badge because it's not 4x4. I've seen it on SR work trucks, so...:notsure:
