They actually got sued by Yeti at one point because they design was so similar, ended up with them making some very minor changes that were pretty much cosmetic so it was a major win for them. I have one of their pre-lawsuit coolers and it is great.

How are the hinges on the RTIC and Engel coolers? Besides the RTIC saying "full length" it doesn't show much about materials, construction, etc on the hinges. The Engel I couldn't find anything about the hinges. There is a Coleman Marine cooler that gets good reviews, has stainless hardware and then it's sheet metal screws attached right into the plastic cooler body. Basically I want to know that after 10 years of use, a bunch of rain and a couple drops onto to corners of the lid it's not going to pull a hinge out or bend a bracket.

Surprised more brands don't use this shoe bag design that ROAM does, mine work great.

Both of mine are built into my tent. It flips out when the tent is opened. One side is a shoe bag, and the other side is a spare parts/shoe bag

I've had a Yeti 75 and a Pelican 30. I prefer the Pelican by far. It is much better made, and no rubber latches to wear out.

I now have shoe bag envy. :) Seeing how they attach is a big help. Thanks for the pictures. I found a few different varieties of bag, and am figuring out my solution.

Shoe bag envy is a terrible disease. My wife uses a separate tent for her shoes and bags.. frees up our sleeping space. (jk)

    Yeah.
I have no words. OK, maybe a few.

If you think you need that, you might not be a camper.

ha! yeah that was the reaction I was looking for :)

I joke, but unfortunately it looks like my girls have reached an age where camping is no longer cool.
