As far as I know UCON does not have SAI delete capabilities.

It doesn’t. That’s why we are going to try to use Hp to turn it off and hope that ucon still runs the air/fuel correctly

Why even bother with the UCON?

Well the setup was already in place with larger injectors, 2.55 pulley and a 7th injector and it seems a lot easier than setting up a new tune. But I’m a noob so tell me if I’m wrong. I don’t want to reassemble everything and have to reinstall the sais.

How are you supposed to haul hay around with those massive coilovers taking up half the bed?

I have a hay truck for that. This one hauls goats and sheep, and they require a plush ride.

You wouldn't need to go back to the original tune file if you go HP. We all are highly modified and switching from UCON to HPT shouldn't be an issue at all.

I ran the UCON previously as well. When HP Tuners came out I switched. The main thing you lose is the 7th injector because the Toyota ECU has no provision for controlling it. There are varying opinions on wether the 7th really helps or not. Lots of us running with no 7th with no ill effects.

If y’all can figure out what injectors are actually there, and maybe find the specs for them online somewhere then HP Tuners should be able to make the truck run great and eliminate the middle man (UCON).

Are there benefits to removing the ucon and going with hpt? Hpt sent me an email, and while I’m sure what they said was for legal purposes, they told me “Hp tuners is not the solution for you” since I wanted to bypass emissions equipment.

Yes I have done this. I am running the UCon with a stock ECU that is hptuned to delete the SAI. I left all the fueling alone since the UCon is expecting to see certain signals from the ECU. The only thing I changed was SAI delete and I haven't had any issues. The only thing that's a pain in the ass is having to separate the stock ECU from the UCon, plugging it into the truck to flash, then taking it apart and putting UCon back together. You cannot flash the stock ecu while still connected to the UCon

Injectors are 630cc. Do you think it’s better to streamline with hpt and remove the 7th injector? Which setup gives you better drivability in your experience?

Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
I have said injectors he can pickup with his diff. It is def easier just pulling the UCON instead of hoping for the best. There are plenty of baseline tunes out there that are safe to get going with. Unfortunately, I don’t have an extra SC crank pulley, that was the one I gave to somebody in Texas. I will keep an eye out but you guys are welcome to some fresh maggy TRD injectors. @3pooches

info sent to dark goat for esssayI delete. We can flash you when you come down or via remote with dark goats MPVI2 or mine.

Thank you so much for all your help! We will see what evolves tomorrow with the tuner. I might be in apex next weekend, I’ll text you as it gets closer.

I think you have access to all the info and hardware you need here @3pooches there is really no need to access sources outside of this forum with questions as you will get information which is not applicable to your intentions. A lot of people and companies despite being the companies that we house do not have the knowledgebase that we do, so if you have a question, it's usually best to come straight to us before going to the company itself. Especially since your intention is custom. It's like the old saying goes, "custom problems require custom solutions." This thread is the custom solution.

You’ll need a bit more info than just the cc/min of the injectors. Most manufacturers have a data sheet for the specific part number.

Voltage offset is one of the important parts to have. And then if I remember right, minimum pulse width. Then you have some math to do as well in order to get in the ball park. @JustDSM hrlped me out big time with the injector stuff back when HP Tuners fist started supporting the 1GR
