    Hello all

I have a couple bike mounts mounted to my bed rail on my 3rd gen. I wanted to see if anybody had some creative solutions to locking the ends of the bed rails themselves to further secure the bike racks? Otherwise, a theft could unscrew the bike mount while the bike was mounted, slide out the mount, and walk away with the bike and bike mount. Same could be said for the bed rail itself, so I’m not sure there is a theft proof solution here, but curious if anybody knows of one.

    thx

D rings and a cable lock? These are out of stock but excellent:

It looks like they have them here, for a lot more money:

Amazon (DC Cargo Mall) has them in 10 packs for $23. Just snagged em for my bed.

Great price! Back when I got mine, it was about $21 delivered for all six.

I don't think you can go wrong, plus having spares is always good. I can't imagine not having them.

Someone gave me a SB mat in trade. I cut it for the D rings and stiffeners. It is a pretty nice combo.

Oh cool. Yea I heard about these from another thread on here. I’m debating on going with recessed L track (like another user did) in the bottom and keeping these on the sides or doing these recessed in the mat like you’re saying.

My recommendation would be to cut the mat.

I would love some L track, but I don't have the stomach for drilling the bed. The tiedown points that I have between the stock ones, D rings, and stiffeners have gotten me down the road so far.

I might be more encouraged if the bed bolts were all in one channel. Not tapered.

I would not have trusted this crate being anchored to the accessory rails:
