And here I am looking at a 1989 Kawa Bayou ATV for $250 to fix up and rip around

 

STI swap I think they did one on Gears and Gasoline YouTube channel. Great idea. Cool cars and subies are know for blown head gaskets

 

You drain the case to do that?

 

Yep, followed this guide. He doesn't really talk about removing the seal on the guide funnily enough, but I ended up using vice grips to hold onto a hook and mangled it, but got it out.

 

Installed Stainless Steel skid plate from 22rethan.

 

Took the roof basket, RTT, RTT rack, truck boxes off... to get ready for the weekend.

It would be pretty easy to just burn some lower shock mounts in.

You could use the ome if you did do a complete relocate but they will be short if you measure for what you are planning on running in the future.

Id probably just take the other bolt to the hardware store and find one and get get a tap to chase the threads for now. Doesn't make sense if you are planning on a complete relocate to burn in lower mounts just to have to cut them off when you get around to doing the uppers.

 

Went to get an oil filter at Toyota today. They’ve superseded their part # according to the parts guy. I’ve always gotten

Couldn’t find a matching bolt at ace or lowes, but have an oem set on the way. Gonna run as is and start to plan my relocation. Ideally that’ll be the next time I pull the shocks so if the lower plate mounts strip out it shouldn’t be the end of the world

 

recently put in a LCE header since my manifold was almost cracked in half. It is actually quieter in the cabin with the windows up since the old manifold made such a loud death rattle noise. If anyone wants a write up I could do one, but it is super simple and just drops right in. I also put on a baja bumper from low range (trail gear ). That only took about 30 min to swap!

 

Well. I guess I’ll install one leaf today?

I actually did something on the Tacoma. Had a slow day today so I pulled the stuff to access the OEM clock. I wanted to at least get the digits working again on the dang thing even though I don't even think to look at it or even though you can't see it because of the funky awkward angle anyways.
Resoldered the three 330 resistors and digits are nice and bright again.
I simply smeared some flux on the solder joints and soldered directly over the existing old solder. Naked eye didn't see any cracked joints but I know better than that.

So goodbye to the clock that never worked. Small things but the clock delete panel looks a lot more clean

 

lmao you know that replacement fan speed knobs are pretty cheap right?

 

So the sad thing is I’ve got them haha. I broke the rod coming out the heater control so now my knobs don’t fit it.

 

I just slapped on a Steelie ball mount on the clock face and hang my HAM mic there. lol

 

There we go, my “custom” fan knob haha. I had my CB mike mounted under the old clock face. So now to order a new heater control since some people want to pick on my vise grip knobs lol
