    Personally I don't try very hard any more.
    My last buck about killed me getting him out...but I won't repeat that story.

    I might pull the trigger in one of 2 scenarios:

    1) The awesomest, once in a lifetime buck poses for me. Fat chance.
    2) A wounded buck comes by.

    Mostly I go these days so the Ruffed Grouse can strut around and heckle me (they cluck like chickens, BTW).
    The same birds that are so scarce when they're in season. :rolleyes:
