Thanks for the head-up on Mobtown and SOS. I was aware of them but had never seriously looked into either. I sent Billy w/Brute Force Fab an email yesterday, requesting to place an order for a front bumper. Now that I look at the weld it yourself bumper kit from SOS, $450 for a front bumper is cheap enough to justify the cost of a "nicer than harbor freight" grade welder and do it myself. Anyone have experience with SOS? I've not been too familiar with them, but they suddenly moved to the top of the list. Well above begging someone in CA to get back to me so I can hand them
$1200 to get a bumper in 6 weeks...

I've got their bolt-on sliders and love them. Will be following up with full skids this coming Black Friday Sale. From the main page click on their name under "Official Vendors" and you can see all of the threads pertaining to their products, including the Q&A/BS page a bunch of the guys hang out in.

You on Facebook? This is where the cool kids are: We're having a meet next Saturday at the Bass Pro Shop off I-95 just north of Richmond.

Hey all. I still have my factory suspension from my fj cruiser. Anyone have a need for it? It's all shocks and springs Bilstein (silver) from a Trail Teams. I have to rebuild all over again, so it's gonna be total chaos, budbuilt skids, and a small lift.

Has anyone here participated or had experience with RVShare or outdoorsy (private RV rental). Looking to do a trip potentially with just the family to meet some friends camping in a couple weeks and thought.. if someone here rents out theirs, I'd rather put money in your pocket than some anonymous person.

We have a camping setup for the truck tent but want to test the waters with a pop up or smaller towed setup.

If anyone knows of any reputable rentals online we may be looking to do a larger trip later in the year with my wife's extended family.

I understand the concerns with putting things in others hands, especially with the health issues going around, but I figured I'd ask here first before I spent money elsewhere.

Sorry to not participate much lately, the backyard has been under construction!

P.S. Going to invite a few people down once the workshop goes in and gets setup (getting delivered on the wife's birthday)! Might even be able to host a mod day in the future!

Both are excellent, but if you can't move your trailer by hand the Lock n Roll is probably easier. The Maxcoupler takes some very precise backing to hitch up a heavy tongue trailer. Ask @Casper66 about the LocknRoll

I have a lock n roll and love it. Just get it close and give it a kick and it slides right in.

I kind of favored that one also. The problem is, I currently have this type of hitch on the trailer. The Max Coupler makes a trailer-side hitch that I can bolt right on in place of this one. The Lock 'N' Rolls all require a 2" receiver on the trailer. Yes, I could have someone weld one on but I am trying to keep my expenses down.

I personally haven't used any of them but I know people who have, and I haven't heard anything bad. On the contrary, years ago, I know Cruise America was just about the only game in town and they were a nightmare. In college I worked a couple summers at a service station in Yellowstone National Park and we saw their rentals everyday. They would regularly send out an RV on a 4000 mile road trip with brake pads/shoes almost to the metal, nearly bald tires, the list goes on. Whats worse, they never wanted to spend the money on a proper repair/replacement, meanwhile the family spent a day or more of their vacation hanging out at a service station/repair shop. I would much sooner rent from a private party that isn't in the business of keeping their RV on the road as much as possible with as little spent on maintenance and repair. Just my two cents.

Hi to everyone in the Stafford/Fredericksburg area. I have an appointment at Sheehy Toyota in late August for the frame inspection and CRC treatment on my '15 DCSB. Has anyone here had this done by this dealership? What was the outcome with the CRC treatment? Did they do a god job or did they slop it all over the truck? Any input would be helpful.

I have used them for service and recommend Fredericksburg over Stafford/Garrisonville Rd location. I know the service manager Bill Benson from high school and he has always listened to customers concerns and even had my wife's Prius towed from the Stafford location and fixed what they screwed up. Also bought the Prius when it was Rosner and Sheehy honored the free oil changes for life, which saved us when that became my commuter to Indian Head.
I haven't had the frame inspection done on my 15 but guess I should get under it soon and just look around to make sure there aren't any problem spots.

I had my 1-gen Tundra in for the same thing a few years ago. It required removal of the bed to do the job.

Well, they fucked up all the wiring, including a coaxial video cable for my after-market rear camera. They cut the cable and just spliced it back together like it was a single-conductor wire. I complained to their customer service department and they said they would replace the coaxial video cable. Instead, they just peeled the insulation off of both of the cut ends, spliced each conductor individually and then sealed it up with electrical tape.

I went and complained a second time because they said they would replace the cable from the head unit to the rear camera but didn't. Their response was that they won't fix after-market equipment even though they screwed it up.

Now, I will add that the dealership was stilled owned by Rosner at the time; this was before it was sold to Sheehey so they may be better now.

And I got the same recall notice but I'm not having it done.
