IDK why the hell people keep putting 4.88's in. Everyone I know who went 5.29's is super happy. Everyone that went 4.88's wants 5.29's. If your running 33's 4.88 might be OK. I ran 33's for 6 months with 5.29's and it was actually fun to drive my rig. lol

Manual or auto? Marlins calculator says 35s on 5.29 at 70mph is 3k rpm vs 2700 for 4.88. I have stock 3.90 on a 5sp v6 so either one is better,

I'm auto and if they made deeper then 5.29's I'd be on them. I have a 96 Taco 5-speed as well. If I ever build that up it will also be getting 5.29's. Then I'll be able to give an apples to apples comparison. I don't mind being in the power band for most driving though. RPM's scare a lot of folks. I'm not one of them. lol

    I remember my ‘48 had 5.38’s stock.
I horse traded some Jeepster parts for a ‘32 turtle back fiberglass tub that I put on the CJ2A for half of my senior year in high school. That was a hoot!

Got a new toy for the truck, it's a Federal Signal Legend LED 360° Amber/White lightbar. It's what you'd find on a PG&E truck or a tow truck. Gotta build a headache rack to mount it permanently.
